Statue of St. Paul of the Cross Dedicat-ed at the Monastery in Jamaica

by Fr. Jack Douglas The Monastery recently erected a statue of our Founder, Saint Paul of the Cross near the front door. St Paul is most notable for his fervent love for God and his special devotion to the Passion of Jesus. Inspired and led by God, Paul travelled throughout Italy, preaching missions with a particular emphasis on the passion of Jesus. Along with his preaching vocation he was also inspired by God to found a order of priests & brothers and an order of nuns, devoted spe-cifically to the Passion of Jesus. Thus, by the express will of God and through Paul's contin-ual prayers and sacrifices, he eventually be-came the founder and was elected the first Superior General of the "Congregation of Dis-calced Clerks of the Holy Cross and Passion of Our Lord", more commonly known as the Pas-sionists.

Celebrating World Day

of Consecrated Life

by Fr. Paul Wierichs

World Day for Consecrated Life began Feb-ruary 1, 2015 in the Diocese of Palm Beach. Ed Hall, Lee Havey, Pat Daugherty and Paul Wierichs all attended a Holy Hour and Bene-diction Service at Mary Immaculate Chap-el. The Pope invites us to renew our voca-tion and to fill it with joy and passion, so that the increase in loving activity is a con-tinuous process. “Love is never finished and complete; throughout life it changes and matures and thus remains faithful to itself”.
