COWTOWNMARATHON

This past week, we participated in the Fort Worth

Cowtown Marathon. This is one of our club's favorite

annual projects. We worked the water stop, diligently

filling cups with water and powerade. We passed out

these drinks to runners, and we cheered them on as they

made it to the last remaining miles of the race. Thanks

to the idea by junior Katie Kroll, we encouraged

runners by screaming their name if it was visible on

their running tag. It was really fun and made the

whole entire service project more personal. My

only recommendations for next year is to wear

sunscreen and bring your loud voice!

POETRY COLUMN

Oh how my hearts yearns for the month of June

The me when everything is released, the me of boon

Plop, plop, plop the water drops resound in the abyss of my longing

Aw, the refreshment that my master would feel, how can it be sung

The joy, the happiness, the bliss he would feel as with popping a ghtly sealed bung

Round and round the water goes at the push of the lever in the abyss of my longing

The trumpets fill the air with Congratulaons

And my heart cries "It is done" and cheers my master in exclamaons

Down and down, the paper drowns in the abyss of my longing

One of our weekly projects is Agape

Feeding the homeless. A group of us went

together on Thursday night to Broadway

Baptist Church. Most of us had never been

to Agape before or hadn't gone in a long

time. We volunteer to serve the food and act

basically as waiters to the families that

come for the dinner. At this Agape I felt so

moved, inspired, and thankful. It is really

great to directly see the people you are

helping and to be able to watch your

service impact them in a positive manner.

If you haven't gone to Agape yet, definitely

go sometime soon.

Working at water stops are some of my favorite service projects

to do with the Paschal High school Key club. The thrill and

excitement coming from the runners emanates from their

sweang bodies, radiang like the heat off their laboring flesh

forms. This year my favorite service project just so happened to

be the Trinity River Run water stop. The water ge?ng slapped

out of my hands by the organic locomoves really made me

appreciate the beauty all around me in the world. I would

recommend working water stops to anyone looking to be

involved in fun and even@ul service projects.

The end of my editor days are coming. As I look

back from my first editor days to now, I feel I

have come a pretty long way. I was the first editor

to write the monthly newsletter and was

consistent with each month and feel pretty proud

to have done that. When my term is officially over

after DCON, I hope future editors may continue

my steps of writing the monthly newsletters. I

wish the future editors of key club good luck as I

leave.
