Addendum # 2 to Bid No. 1048 - R520/R523 Printmaking Classroom Interior Alteration Project The following information is to provide applicable update(s) / Clarification(s) / Revision(s) and respond to questions to BID No. 1048 R520/R523 Printmaking Classroom Interior Alteration Project Question(s) to BID No. 1048:

1. Q: What is the Engineer's Estimate for this project? A: No engineer’s estimate will be provided.

2. Q: What is the Engineer's Estimate? A: No engineer’s estimate will be provided.

3. Q: Please provide the sign in sheet. A: Please see sign-in sheet in the Document tab

4. Q: Which set of drawings are to be utilized for this project? A: Answered on Addendum No.1

5. Q: For bonding purposes, what is the estimated value of this project? A: No engineer’s estimate will be provided.

6. Q: Other than the GC needing to provide their own portable sanitary/restrooms, are there any other temporary facilities the GC needs to provide? Also, will testing and inspections be provided and paid for by PACCD or the GC? A: Contractor shall provide portable sanitary/restrooms and minimum 6-foot chain link secured fencing for staging area for Contractor’s material and equipment. Existing utilities are available for Contractor’s use, however, contractor responsible for accessing those utilities and shall inform PACCD prior to using. Lighting of the work area is responsibility of Contractor. For other requirements, Contractor shall provide as required by Article 16 of the Contract Documents. PACCD will have their Lab of Record provide inspections for items noted in the attached DSA Form 103. Contractor shall be responsible for inspections as required by the Contract General Conditions.

7. Q: Who is responsible to furnish the wall mounted projector shown in the Exhibit B; sheet A 3.01,

Keynote #3? If the contractor, please provide the specification. A: District will contract with an outside AV company to complete the Smart Classroom installation of the wall mounted projector. Contractor shall install the electrical outlet for the projector and AV cabling conduit.

8. Q: Is the contractor required to provide a Media Manager Series? How many and Where? A: District will contract with an outside AV company to complete the Smart Classroom installation of the Media Manager Series. Contractor shall install the electrical outlet for the projector and AV cabling conduit.

9. Q: Is there any specification for fire optics? But no mention of fire optics installation? Please clarify? A: There is no fiber optic installation required for this project.

10. Q: Who is responsible for furnishing the mount for the projector? A: District will contract with an outside AV company to complete the Smart Classroom installation of the mount for the projector. Contractor shall install the electrical outlet for the projector and AV cabling conduit.

11. Q: “ Based on the picture we took on the site from the existing Fire alarm panel it seems the fire panel

is Silent Knight Model 5820XL. This is contradicting with the information on Drawing FA 2-01 which mentioned It is a Farenhyt IFP-50. Only certain Fire alarm suppliers can work on this Model. Please clarify the exact make and model of the existing system. Also, we need to clarify if the existing panel has in fact any spare circuit for additional Audio/Visual devices being installed. Or are we tapping existing Circuits? We could add a Power supply if needed. A: The existing fire alarm control panel is a Silent Knight 5820XL as noted. The notation “Farenhyt IFP” is to be disregarded on the Fire Alarm Riser Diagram and the “IFP-50” is to be disregarded on the FACP battery calculations.

12. Q: What is the size for Marker Board which is shown different in the DWG sheet A 3.01/Keynote#6 vs Spec.; 2.2.1.1.1. MKBD-1: 10 feet by 4 feet? A: Unless shown otherwise, please provide 16’ x 4’ as shown on the drawings.

13. Q: There is no scale on the DGW sheet A 3.01. Please verify? A: Scale: 1 /4”=1’-0” to sheet A3.01 Construction Plan.

14. Q: Plumbing Specifications. A: Contractor shall include Specifications Section 22 40 00 Plumbing Fixtures attached.

15. Q: Construction Work Hours.

A: The Construction Work Hours for this project will be from 4am to 2pm Monday thru Friday. In addition, all noisy work (i.e. drilling, framing, etc.) shall be completed during the hours of 4am to 7am Monday thru Friday so that the existing nearby classrooms are not disturbed. Any work outside these specified construction work hours shall be approved by the District.

SECTION 22 40 00

PLUMBING FIXTURES

PART 1 GENERAL

1.1 SECTION INCLUDES

1.1.1 Section 22 05 00, General Plumbing Requirements, and Section 22 05 10, General Plumbing Materials, insofar as they are applicable to this Section, and unless otherwise herein specified.

1.1.2 Materials, fixtures, equipment and labor as herein specified which shall take precedence over those elsewhere specified.

1.1.3 Plumbing fixtures and equipment consisting of fixtures, equipment, trim and accessories.

1.2 PLUMBING FIXTURE BROCHURES

1.2.1 Within thirty-five (35) calendar days after the Scheduled Start of Construction, the Contractor shall submit to the Architect seven (7) copies of plumbing fixture brochures with full description, cuts and catalog numbers of fixtures, equipment, trim and accessories the Contractor proposes to use.

1.2.2 Plumbing fixture brochures shall be arranged in the order of the Specifications and shall include the Architect's plumbing fixture identification code for each fixture and equipment.

1.2.3 No plumbing fixtures or equipment shall be installed until the brochures have been reviewed by the Architect for compliance with the Contract Documents.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 FIXTURES, GENERAL

2.1.1 Plumbing fixtures shall be furnished in white color unless otherwise herein specified.

2.1.2 Plumbing fixture trim and exposed supplies and wastes shall be polished chrome plated brass unless otherwise herein specified.

2.1.3 Exposed wastes between trap and wall may be galvanized steel nipples with polished chrome plated casings.

2.1.4 Concealed wastes above ground may be galvanized steel pipe, and concealed supplies and traps above ground may be rough brass.

2.1.5 Individual loose key stops or, if so specified, screwdriver stops shall be provided for all supplies and, unless integral with faucets, shall be mounted under the fixtures.

2.1.6 Accessible plumbing fixtures shall comply with all the requirements in CBC Division 6.

2.1.7 Heights and location of all accessible fixtures shall be mounted according to CBC Sections

11B-602 through Section 11B-612. 2.1.8 Fixture controls shall comply with CBC Sections 11B-601.3 for drinking fountains, 11B-

604.6 for water closets, 11B-604.9.5 for children's water closets, 11B-605.4 for urinals, 11B-606.4 for lavatories and sinks, 11B-607.5 for bathtubs, 11B-608.5 for showers and 11B-611.3 for washing machines and clothes dryers.

2.1.9 Accessible sinks shall be 6-1/2" deep maximum. Sinks shall be mounted with the front of

the higher of the rim and counter surface 34" maximum above the finish floor or ground. 2.1.10 Water supply and drain pipes under lavatories and sinks shall be insulated or otherwise

configured to protect against contact. There shall be no sharp or abrasive surfaces under lavatories and sinks. CBC Section 11B-606.

2.1.11 Waste material options do not apply to laboratory wastes.

2.1.12 Provide drop ear elbows and brass nipples at all fixture water stubouts. 2.2 WALL HUNG FIXTURES 2.2.1 Wall type closet bowls shall be supported completely free of the finished wall by adjustable

closet carrier assemblies consisting of closet fitting, face plate and foot support. Bowls shall be held in place with bearing nuts with washers and brass acorn nuts with washers.

2.2.2 Fixtures specified with hangers or supporting arms shall have hangers or arms fastened to

5/16" thick x 8" high steel anchor plates extending at least one stud beyond the first and last fixture mounting point.

2.2.3 Hangers and exposed arms shall be attached to anchor plates with 5/16" full thread steel

stud bolts, jam nuts and metal spacers with thickness equal to wall finish thickness. 2.2.4 Concealed arm assemblies shall be attached to anchor plates with four 3/8" x 1-1/4" steel

bolts and nuts. 2.2.5 Anchor plates shall be drilled and tapped at the time of installation. 2.2.6 In wood stud wall construction, the anchor plates shall be recessed flush with stud and shall

be fastened to each stud with two 3/8" steel carriage bolts extending through the center of the stud and secured with steel washers and nuts.

2.2.7 In steel stud wall construction, the anchor plates shall be recessed flush with studs, 1-1/2" x

18" long furring channel shall be fastened to each stud with 1" long fillet welds spaced on 6" center front and back, and anchor plates shall be continuous fillet welded to each furring channel.

2.2.8 In masonry and concrete wall construction, anchor plates shall not be used and fixtures

shall be fastened with Phillips "Red Head" JS-38 3/8" stud anchors with nuts and washers.

2.2.9 All wall hung lavatories shall be provided with Smith model 723 wall mounted concealed lavatory arm assemblies, and shall be factory drilled for concealed arm assembly.

2.2.10 Insulate offset drain pipe, tailpiece, trap arm, p-trap and hot water lines and angle stops

serving all ADA lavatories and sinks; Truebro “Lav Guard” white undersink protective cover model #103 or approved equal.

2.3 FLOOR MOUNTED FIXTURES 2.3.1 Floor type closet bowls shall be set on slotted cast bronze closet ring assemblies with the

bottom of the ring installed at the finished floor elevation. Joints shall be made gastight and watertight with preformed wax gasket. Closet bowls shall be held in place with 5/16" solid brass bolts and nuts concealed with china bolt caps.

2.4 DRAINS WITH FLASHING DEVICE 2.4.1 For drains specified with flashing device, the waterproofing membrane or roofing shall be

carefully cut to fit the drain and shall be anchored between the drain and the flashing ring with rust proof bolts.

2.5 SINKS

2.8.1 Fixture SK/CH - 31" x 22" x 6-1/2" Single Compartment Sink: Elkay LRADQ312265PD type 304 top mount stainless steel receptor; American Standard 4331.013 basket strainer with 1-1/2" tailpiece; Chicago 201A-GN8AE3-317 lever handle deck double faucet with swing spout and vandalproof 1/2 g.p.m. flow control, 1006 1/2" loose key angle stops with 1/2" O.D. flexible supplies and brass wall escutcheons; "Sink-Lok" stainless steel frame; 1-1/2" cast brass L.A. “P” trap. Assembly shall comply with ADA/DSA requirements for fixtures serving persons with disabilities.

2.9 FLOOR DRAINS

2.9.1 Fixture FD/A1 - Floor Drain: Smith 2005-A-PU assembly with hubless cast iron body, trap primer connection, integral flashing device, 5" round adjustable nickel bronze top and nickel bronze grate with vandalproof mounting; cast iron "P" trap.

2.9.2 Equivalent: Wade.

PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION 3.1.1 Mounting heights of plumbing fixtures shall be as shown in schedules on the Drawings; no

changes shall be made without written permission of the Mechanical Engineer. 3.1.2 Fixture caulking shall be made with white non-hardening water proof Wilhold Latex Caulk

applied in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.

3.1.3 Adequate distance between vacuum breaker and fixture (6" to critical level line) shall be provided.

3.2 OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS 3.2.1 The Contractor shall instruct the Owner's Representative who will operate the system,

about the operation and maintenance of the fixtures and equipment. 3.2.2 The Contractor shall deliver to the Owner two (2) copies of Operating and Maintenance

Manuals for Plumbing Fixtures and Equipment furnished and installed under Section 22 40 00.
