of the known and well loved Anglo Indian recipes.Book one is all about the old colonial dishes of the British Raj era, featuring the history and the evolution of the cuisine, while the second one has the familiar and well loved Anglo-Indian dishes which include a section on roasts, casseroles, bakes and the festive sweets and home-made wine. Her books have been published in the UK by Penguin, but since the books sold by them became unaffordable in India, she self published an Indian set of books.Interested iBrowsers asked questions ranging from how to make the best Ginger/Garlic paste, to why it is important to leave the skin on, on a festive roast chicken. The quaint concept of a side dish which in reality was the main dish of the meal and the simple vegetable foogaths, which are just stir fried fresh veggies in sliced onion, with a generous

sprinkle of grated fresh coconut, Bridget went into details about them all.As usual iBrowsers were treated to a sizeable discount on the list price of the books, along with the authors autograph making the book that much more valuable.

Amandeep Sandhu with his book “ Sepia Leaves” is our guest author for December’s iBrowse event, on the 9th December, 2016, at 6pm in the Ball room. His book touches on the scourge of mental illness which sadly is not treated, but hidden away as an embarassment by most families. In fact his book has been notified as a text in NIMHANS . So do come on the 9th and listen to his first hand and personal experiences. We have a second event on December 16th in the Club Library, with Shaiji Mathew and his kiddie book ‘Alfie the Elf ’ a Christmas fantasy. Bring your kids and enjoy a Christmas story which is perfect for the season. Shashi Lewis - MICMarianne Furtado de Nazareth Sub Committee Member

November has been a month of hectic activity for the CCOT.We had a total of five events this month.• The Medical check-up at St. Mary’s Orphanage for boys. 220 boys were examined by a team of Doctors from St. John’s led by Doctors Bobby Joseph and Pritish Kiran. Our thanks are due to them and the team of dedicated doctors who spent their mornings to help us in this work. Also to Dr. Dyphna D’Couto and a gang of lay CC members who willingly pitched in to help. All together the event was well appreciated. • The Art Workshop and sale by Elaina ‘Suja’ Smith, and her band of lively little art students, of 8 to 13 year olds, who exhibited their works and donated half the sale proceeds to CCOT. One cannot help but say, the standard of paintings on display was well above all expectations for such young apprentices. Notable in this event, was the workshop conducted by these students for the St. Patrick’s Boys. They obviously did well. St. Patrick’s has asked for more !• CCOT also commenced the Skill Development Program for the girls of Good Shepherd Orphanage. By the looks of it the first session was very well received. There are 23 more to go. CCOT hopes to duplicate this program in other Orphanages once the results of this trial are over.• We also had The Catholic Club Orphans’ Trust Golf Tournament at the BGC. 63 Golfers assembled an hour before Tee off at 7am to compete for the trophies on offer. All this despite another major tournament being held on the same day at Mysore. The secret of our success was the zealous Golf Committee that came forward to organise the event. Our thanks to Javid Sherif, Sunil Vasanth, Peter Prem, Govind Moyanani, Rumi Gyara, and Joey Santiago who gave generously of their Time and talent to get this thing going. A huge thank you to our Sponsors, M/s. Prestige Group,
