observes.
Types of Variable
Independent Variables
Dependent Variables
Confounding Variables
Intervening variables
Extraneous variables
the conditions or characteristics that the experimenter manipulates or controls in his/her attempt to ascertain their relationship to observed phenomena.
Independent Variable
Treatment Variables those factors that the experimenter
manipulates and to which he/she assigns subjects.
Organismic or attribute Variables
those characteristic that cannot be altered by the experimenter.
2 Types Of Independent
Variables
Dependent Variable
the conditions or characteristics that appear, disappear or change as the experimenter introduces, removes, or changes independent variables.
Confounding Variable
those aspects of a study or sample that might influence the dependent variable and whose effect may be confused with the effects of the independent variables.
Intervening Variables those variables that intervene on the cause
and effect.
Extraneous Variables those uncontrolled variables that may have
significant influence on the results of a study.
2 Types Of Confounding
Variables
Removing the variables
Randomization
