1.1.4 WEIGHT AND BALANCE DEFINITIONS
1. BASIC WEIGHT : Aircraft weight including the furnishing,
fixed equipment
2. DRY OPERATING WEIGHT (DOW)
: Basic weight plus crew and pantry weight and the other. Operational items (such as ballast fuel, stretcher..., if applied).
3. DEADLOAD : Gross weight of the cargo, mail, baggage and empty ULDs.
4. OPERATING WEIGHT : Dry operating weight plus take off fuel.
5. PAYLOAD : Weight of the passengers, cargo, mail, baggage and ULDs.(these may be revenue and/or nonrevenue)
6. ZERO FUEL WEIGHT (ZFW)
: Dry operating weight plus payload.
7. TAKE OFF WEIGHT (TOW)
: Zero fuel weight plus take off fuel
8. DEADLOAD WEIGHT (DLW)
: Zero fuel weight minus the weight of passengers.
9. MAXIMUM TAKE OFF WEIGHT (MTOW)
: Maximum weight at brake release as limited by aircraft (MTOW) strength and airworthiness requirements.

: Maximum weight allowed before usable fuel must be (MZFW) loaded in the aircraft as limited by strength and airworthiness requirement.

25. Take off fuel
: The amount of fuel on board less the fuel consumed before the take off run.
26. Taxi fuel
: A standard quantity of fuel to cover engine starts and ground maneuvers until start of take off, APU consumption, the amount may be increased when required by local conditions.
27. Trip fuel
: Fuel required to fly from the airport of departure to the planned destination, based on "Planned Operating Conditions". This amount shall include fuel for take off, acceleration, climb, cruise, descent, approach and landing.
28. Ballast fuel
: The fuel in lieu of payload which is specifically loaded for longitudinal balance control.
29. Usable fuel
: Fuel available for aircraft propulsion.
30. Unusable fuel :
Fuel can not be used due to technical limitations and must be included in weight and balance concerns.

1.2.1.2 PERFORMANCE OPERATING WEIGHT To comply with the performance requirements of the aircraft manufacturer, the maximum allowable takeoff and landing weights may be less than structural limits. The maximum allowable weight for that flight that must not exceed the least of the following weights:
− Maximum allowable takeoff weight for the runway intended to be used (including corrections for altitude and gradient, and wind and temperature conditions existing at the takeoff time).
− Maximum takeoff weight considering anticipated fuel and oil consumption that
allows compliance with applicable enroute performance limitations. − Maximum take off weight considering anticipated fuel and oil consumption that
allows compliance with landing distance limitations or arrival at the destination and alternate airports.

The LMC tolerance is: +/- 1500 kg. If exceeded, a new loadsheet is required. The following must be checked : a. Traffic load only: - The LMC positive total weight is lower than the underload before LMC. - No loading limitation exceeded. - The balance at MACZFW and MACTOW remains within the allowed limits. - All the LMC data on the loadsheet is completed.

1.5.2 CARGO DOOR B777-200ER has 02 holds for loading ULD and 01 for bulk loading. Forward cargo hold is devided into compartment 1 and compartment 2 which can load both container and pallet. AFT cargo hold is devided into compartment 3 and compartment 4. Both container and pallet can be loaded at the AFT hold for the aircraft VNA141/2/7/9/50/51 because of large door. Aircraft VNA143/4/5/6 can only load container at the AFT hold because of narrow door.

1.5.2.1 CARGO DOOR OPERATION WARNING:
− Do not operate the door in winds more than 40 knots. − Do not let the door stay open in winds more than 65 knots. Injuries to persons or
damage to equipment can occur. − Do not open the door when the aircraft is pressurized. Injuries to persons or damage
to equipment can occur. CAUTION: Do not operate the door electrically more than 2 full open/close cycles within 5 minutes. Damage to the lift mechanism can occur. 1.5.2.1.1 Open the cargo door
− Open cargo door actuation panel WARNING: Stay away from the path of the lock handle. The lock handle is spring-
loaded to open when you pull the catch release lever and injuries to persons or damage to equipment can occur.
− Push the lock handle access cover in and pull the catch release lever out. − Make sure the lock handle is fully OPEN and UNLOCKED shows on each side of
the handle. − Make sure the vent door is OPEN. − Make sure the green DOOR LATCHED light on the control panel is ON. − Make sure all persons and equipment are clear of the door. − Unlatch and open the door as follows:
(1) Hold the external CARGO DOOR CONTROL switch in the OPEN position. (2) Release the switch when the door is fully open and the yellow DOOR UP light comes on.
− Close cargo door actuation panel. 1.5.2.1.2 Close the cargo door
− Open cargo door actuation panel. CAUTION: Make sure the access panels are closed on the sides of the door cutout before you close the cargo door. The cargo door can cause damage to open access panels when it closes.
− Make sure the access panels doors are closed on the sides of the door cutout. − Make sure all persons and equipment are clear of the door. − Hold the external CARGO DOOR CONTROL switch in the CLOSE position. − Make sure the yellow DOOR UP light goes off. − Release the switch when the door is fully closed and the green DOOR LATCHED
light comes on. − Make sure the vent door is open. − Push the lock handle up and inboard to close the lock handle. − Make sure the lock handle and catch release lever are flush with the door skin − Make sure the vent door is closed.

2.2.1.2 PERFORMANCE OPERATING WEIGHT To comply with the performance requirements of the aircraft manufacturer, the maximum allowable takeoff and landing weights may be less than structural limits. The maximum allowable weight for that flight that must not exceed the least of the following weights:

2.5.2 CARGO DOOR A330-300 has 02 holds for loading ULD and 01 for bulk loading. Forward cargo hold is devided into compartment 1 and compartment 2 which can load both container and pallet. AFT cargo hold is devided into compartment 3 and compartment 4. Both container and pallet can be loaded at the AFT hold .

2.5.2.1 CARGO DOOR OPERATION WARNING:
− Do not operate the door in winds more than 40 knots. − Do not let the door stay open in winds more than 65 knots. Injuries to persons or
damage to equipment can occur. − Do not open the door when the aircraft is pressurized. Injuries to persons or damage
to equipment can occur. 2.5.2.1.1 Open the cargo door − A platform is necessary to gain access to the bulk cargo door. The operating procedure
is written on the fuselage − Push the button of the outer handle to release it from its recess. − Move the outer or inner handle to the open position. − Push the bulk cargo door partly inwards, then put the door handle in the locked position.
Move the door inward until the hook engages with the hook arrester. 2.5.2.1.2 Close the cargo door − To close the door use the outer handle. − Move the outer handle to the open position to unlock the door from the hook arrester. − Hold the door to prevent it from falling down. − Move the bulk cargo door down into the opening and put the door handle in the locked
position. − Put the handle back into its recess. − Remove the access platform.
