PURPOSE OF THE BRANCH
• To ensure effective environmental regulation of
development through the implementation of
relevant legislation, guidelines, science and best
practice.– Undertake biodiversity impact assessment of development
applications
– Ensure compliance of municipal infrastructure projects with

– Establish and implement an effective compliance and enforcement
function to protect key biodiversity and ecosystem goods and
services

EAPs submit electronic copies (via website links, or DropBox type downloads) of all reports to: Bathabile Msomi, [email protected]
Batha will distribute reports to relevant departments for comment and collate comments for EAP.

Batha Msomi will requestcomments from various municipaldepartments and will providedeadlines and reminders for thosecomments, which she will collateinto a letter for the EAP, to besigned by the Regional Coordinator(M. Lotz) and the Head.
The EPCPD assessing officer willrequest comments from variousmunicipal departments and willprovide deadlines and remindersfor those comments, which will becollated into a letter for the EAP, tobe signed by the RegionalCoordinator (S. Dlamini).
