Fifth Week of Lent
Society of St. Vincent de Paul
In the Gospel today, Jesus tellsus to repent fof our sins. When we do so, we will experience divine mercy and peace.
Sounds like a pretty good deal! During Lent, as we practice self-denial and let God take full possession of our hearts, here is another good deal:
Last month we had 8 people requesting a mattress to sleep on, instead of sleeping on the floor. If you are ready to trade up for a new mattress, and your old mattress is still in good shape, call 435-4040 and we will pick up the old one!
I guarantee you will sleep better that night.
Please Remember the food drive coming up next weekend ~ Palm Sunday Weekend. We’ll have our truck ready for your bags of donated groceries!
Thank You & God Bless You! ~ Paul Novotny

Dear & Good People of God,
Welcome to the Fifth Sunday of Lent and the Final Sunday before Holy Week!
Liturgical focus -
If our God were a vengeful God, who could survive?
We are sinful creatures, struggling to do good in God's eyes, but often coming up short. Even now, during this penitential season, we need to seek God's mercy.
Fortunately, our God is a merciful God; always ready to forgive us.
As we celebrate with each other today, let us thank God for this overflowing mercy, and consider those whom we ourselves need to forgive.
LISTEN TO GOD'S WORD
Isaiah rhapsodizes about what God has done for us, providing dry land through the sea, and a way through the desert.
In our Second Reading, St. Paul attests that in Christ he has found the only way that matters.
And in the Gospel, Jesus intervenes to save the adulterous woman’s life. He then forgives her for the path she has taken, and tells her to “sin no more.”
As we listen to today's readings, let us examine the path we are on in our own lives.
Questions of The Week:
In what ways is God creating something new in me?
...and in others?
Lenten Reminders:
Even now, in the later days of Lent, we can still go deeper in our relationship with the Lord Jesus.
The Sacrament of Penance (aka; reconciliation, confession) is highly recommended to all Catholics as a regular and frequent discipline. And, Catholics who have reached the *age of reason* (knowing right from wrong) are required by Canon 989 to confess their grave sins at least once a year, in order to retain their status as faithful and practicing Catholics.
I invite and urge you to attend Holy Mass daily, Tuesday through Friday (times are on the cover of the bulletin and on our website).
Feel free to approach the priest for private confession after Mass.

¡Bienvenidos al 5° domingo de la Cuaresma!
Querida Familia Parroquial,
