    Parklands News

    November 2014This edition of Parklands News is

    devoted to ensuring that familieshave all of the information require

    about dates over the last weeks of

    term. This is a busy time in school

    and I hope you will be able to join

    us for some of the Christmas

    events we have planned.

    If you need any additional

    information about Christmas

    events in school, please ask at the

    school office.

    Football Tournament

    The second leg of the football

    tournament is on Friday 5thDecember.

    The players will be the same as in thefirst leg which was on 14thNovember.

    Arrangements are the same if your child

    played away at Brookside in the first

    matches, they will return to Brookside for

    the second set of games.

    Please note that children will be playing

    on grass at Brookside and at Parklands

    and so they should have appropriate

    studded football boots.

    Own Clothes Day

    Children are invited to come into school in

    their own clothes on Friday 5th

    December. They

    are asked to bring in an item for a Christmas

    hamper, which will be raffled in aid of school

    funds. Items such as chocolates or biscuits

    would be gratefully received.

    The food which was donated for Harvest Festival

    has been passed on to the Ellesmere Port Food

    Bank. Thanks to all families who sent in

    donations and who attended the Harvest

    Festival performance.

    Good Condition Games and Jigsaws

    If you are having a sort out before Christmas, please

    do not throw away complete jigsaws or games.

    Parklands after school club can use them!

    St Johns Church Christmas Fair

    There is a Christmas fair on Saturday 6th

    December 2014 at 2.00 pm in the Village Hall,

    Little Sutton. Everyone is welcome.

    Choir Dates

    Our School Choir performed at Morrisons in

    Ellesmere Port on Tuesday 2nd

    December. They will

    also be singing at the Tesco supermarket, Sealand

    Road, Chester on Tuesday 9th

    December at 1.15 pm.

    Parents of children in the school choir will beprovided with all of the information in a separate

    letter.

    The issue of adults using bad language on the

    playground in the morning and at home time has

    been raised recently. May I respectfully ask that all

    parents and carers consider carefully the language

    they use the playground when dropping off or

    collecting their children. Thank you

    Christmas Dinner will be held on 11th

    December. All children in Reception, Year

    1 and Year 2 will receive a free Christmas

    Dinner. If your child is in Nursery, Year 3,

    4, 5 or 6 and they do not usually have

    school dinner, they may buy a Christmas

    Dinner. Please send in payment of 2.15in an envelope clearly marked with your

    childs name and class.

    Christmas Bingo FundraiserA family bingo night is to beheld at school on Thursday 11thDecember 2014. Eyes down at6pm and refreshments will beon sale as usual.

    Christmas Jumper Day

    Children can wear a Christmas

    jumper on Friday 12th

    December in

    aid of Save the Children Fund. 50p

    per child/1.00 per family donation.

    Christmas Performances

    Our Christmas Show will be performed at

    school on Monday 15th

    December at 1.45

    pm and 6.00 pm start and on Tuesday16

    thDecember at 1.45 pm. Please arrive

    no earlier than 1.30 pm for the

    afternoon shows.

    For the evening shows, please ensure

    that children return to school by 5.40

    pmso we can get their costumes on.

    End of Term Celebration Assembly

    Our final Celebration Assembly will be held at 2.00pmon Friday 19

    thDecember. All are welcome to

    join us but please arrive no earlier than 1.50 pm.

    End of Term

    The last day of term is Friday 19thDecember.School will finish at 3.00 pm and afterschool clubs will be on until 4.30 pm asnormal.Children are allowed to bring a toy into

    schoolfor the last day of term. Please ensurethat they do not bring in anything expensive orelectronic no phones or tablets please.Children may also wear their own clothesfor school.
