The New Evangelization Summit - April 27-28 An international two-day conference that will inspire thousands of Catholics to be engaged in the New Evangelization. The Summit is bringing together speakers who are leaders in the New Evangelization to provide inspiration, encouragement, training, practical wisdom and resources on how Catholics can effectively evangelize. Being held at the Infinity Convention Centre in Ottawa and webcast to host sites across Canada and the US. For more information and to register visit https://www.newevangelization.ca/ Cost $95. Sponsored by Mission of the Redeemer Ministries.

Development and Peace Caritas Canada welcomes this month’s announcement by the Canadian government to create a human rights ombudsperson to oversee Canadian mining, oil and gas operations around the world after ten years of campaigning on this issue. Since 2006, its campaigns for greater accountability in the Canadian extractives sector have garnered the support of 500,000 Canadians. “This announcement has been a long-time coming and we are happy to see that the government is respecting its electoral promise and restoring Canada’s role as a leader in defending human rights worldwide,” said Serge Langlois, Executive Director of Development and Peace, after the Honourable Minister of International Trade François-Philippe Champagne made the announcement. Find out more about going to World Youth Day in Panama The Archdiocese of Gatineau is putting together a delegation of young people (18-35 years) to go to World Youth Day (WYD) in Panama in 2019. So, take a first step into the unknown this year by trying to focus on the presence of Jesus, the One who eagerly awaits this time with you. Open your heart to the Lord. Tell him that you love him; then be quiet and listen.....

Thought of the Week In the happy moments
