Dear Parishioners, Parish Mission. Ash Wednesday (March 6
th) is
less than a month away. To begin the season of Lent this year, Blessed Sacrament Parish is planning a Parish Mission that will run from the 1
st
Sunday of Lent (March 10th) through Wednesday
(March 13th). The theme will be “Walking with
Jesus” and will be given by Father Paul Chetcuti S.J. Fr. Chetcuti is not unfamiliar with our parish. He has given days of recollection before and last spoke in our parish in 2012. He is from the Province of Malta of the Society of Jesus and for many years served as a spiritual advisor to St. Theresa of Calcutta and her community, the Missionaries of Charity. He also served as the provincial of his community and for many years has been active ministering to youth, married couples, and families involved with Catholic schools. He has been a priest for over 43 years. As the parish council make plans for this mission, our hope is that this Lent our parishioners will take the time to look at their lives to see if we are still on the path with Christ. Do we allow him into the difficult times—the illnesses, struggles, and temptations of our lives? Do we allow Christ to challenge our attitudes and choices we make? Do we ask Jesus for the gifts needed to live a life a faith? One night of the mission will be dedicated to our youth, especially those preparing for confirmation. Another evening will focus on Jesus’ healing power. We will offer the Anointing of Sick during the service. There will be opportunities for reconciliation as well. It is a wonderful way to begin the season of Lent. Each session will begin at 6:30 pm and run until about 8 pm. You and your family are all invited. You are also welcome to invite others. Mark your calendar today and plan to attend. Fr. Jeff
