PARISH OF ST MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION

The most holy trinity

ST. PAUL

‘To God through Christ in

the love which is poured

out through the Spirit.’

Entrance Antiphon:

Blessed be God the Father and

his only begotten Son and the

Holy Spirit: for he has shown

that he loves us.

1st Reading:

Proverbs 8:22-31

Psalms 8:4-9

Responsorial Psalm:

O Lord, our God, how

wonderful your name in all the

earth!

2nd Reading:

Romans 5:1-5

Gospel Acclamation:

Alleluia, alleluia!

Glory to the Father, the Son,

and the Holy Spirit: to God who

is, who was, and who is to

come.

Alleluia!

Gospel:

John 16:12-15

Before Communion:

Lord our God, make these gifts

holy, and through them make

us a perfect offering to you.

Communion Antiphon:

You are the sons of God, so

God has given you the Spirit of

his Son to form your hearts

and make you cry out: Abba,

Father.

After Communion:

Lord God, we worship you, a

Trinity of Persons, one eternal

God. May our faith and the

sacrament we receive bring us

health of mind and body.

This Solemnity presents THE TRINITY as a mystery not to be

‘solved’ or ‘explained,’ but as a Trinity of Persons to be

encountered.

The readings today, reveal the high value God places on us human

beings.

Everything God our Father has, belongs also to the Son and

Spirit. All that God has, is given to us through Jesus who sends us

the SPIRIT.

The indwelling of the Spirit assures us of the Triune God’s working

within and through us:

The Father’s LOVE, The Son’s MISSION, The Spirit’s TRUTH.

Jesus’ Mission is a lofty one. Jesus’ Mission is not entirely on our

shoulders. It is GOD’S GRACE which enables us to be DISCIPLES.

We Care – Responding to the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act. From the earliest times, Christ’s followers have set themselves apart by their

care of the vulnerable (Acts 4:34). On 19 June 2019, the Voluntary Assisted

Dying Act (VAD) comes into effect. It legalises euthanasia and assisted suicide.

Despite what the law may say, our Christian tradition affirms that every life,

including those of the sick and suffering, is sacred. Euthanasia and assisted

suicide are never part of end of life care.

Pope Francis has encouraged ordinary Catholics everywhere to resist euthanasia

and to protect the old, the young and the vulnerable from being cast aside in a

“throw-away culture.” We are called to follow Christ by accompanying people with

compassion, sharing hope not fear.

The Bishops of the Catholic dioceses of Melbourne, Ballarat, Sale and

Sandhurst, echoing Pope Francis, have published a pastoral letter including

practical guidance on ways we can be conscientious objectors to euthanasia.

Copies of the letter are available in our parish and online:

www.cam.org.au/euthanasia

Please read and share it.

We are blessed to announce that this year

on Sunday the 23rd of June at the 5:30 p.m. Mass at

St Mary MacKillop Church, we will have four adult

candidates and one child, entering the Catholic Church

through the Sacrament of Baptism! For the four adult

candidates, they will also be receiving their Confirmation

and First Holy Communion. This will be a wonderful

moment in the life of our beautiful Parish.

The four candidates have been diligently preparing

through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).

They commenced this sacred journey on the 11th

of January, the Memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes, and will

keep on preparing right up to their Initiation

Mass. Please pray for our RCIA Candidates; Kenan

Setoglu, Nancy Jonah, Julie Gerada and Rebecca

Santalucia who will be received into the Catholic Church,

and also Rebecca's 3 year old son Travis who will be

Baptised with them.

The Parish looks forward to sharing this most joyful

occasion together!

Second Sunday of easter The most holy trinity

Entrance:

Firmly I believe and truly

God is Three, and God is One;

And I next acknowledge duly

Manhood taken by the Son.

And I trust and hope most fully

In that Manhood crucified;

And each thought and deed unruly

Do to death, as He has died.

Simply to His grace and wholly

Light and life and strength belong,

And I love supremely, solely,

Him the holy, Him the strong.

And I hold in veneration,

For the love of Him alone,

Holy Church as His creation,

And her teachings as His own.

Responsorial Psalm:

All the earth proclaim the Lord

Sing your praise to God.

Gospel Acclamation:

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia

Glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy

Spirit;

To God who is, who was, and who is to come.

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia

Glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy

Spirit;

To God who is, who was, and who is to come.

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia

Offertory:

Father in my life I see

You are God who walks with me

You hold my life in your hands

Close beside you I will stand

I give all my life to you

Help me Father to be true.

Jesus in my life I see

You are God who walks with me

You hold my life in your hands

Close beside you I will stand

I give all my life to you

Help me Jesus to be true.

Spirit in my life I see

You are God who walks with me

You hold my life in your hands

Close beside you I will stand

I give all my life to you

Help me Spirit to be true.

Communion:

All hail, adored Trinity!

all hail, eternal Unity!

O God the Father, God the Son,

and God the Spirit, ever One.

Three Persons praise we evermore,

one only God our hearts adore;

in thy sure mercy ever kind

may we your strong protection find.

O Trinity! O Unity!

Be present as we worship thee;

and with the songs that angels sing

unite the hymns of praise we bring.

Recessional:

Holy God, we praise your name,

Lord of all, we bow before you;

All on earth your pow’r proclaim,

All in heaven above adore you;

Boundless is your vast domain,

Everlasting is your reign.

Holy Father, Holy Son,

Holy Spirit, Three we name you,

While in essence only one,

Undivided God we claim you,

And adoring bend the knee

While we own the mystery

HYMN TO ST ANTHONY OF PADUA

O, Anthony God’s chosen one

With mortal eyes you saw your Lord.

A solemn pledge of glorious life,

A foretaste of your own reward.

Sing joyful praises to the King.

A loyal soldier’s recompense

To Anthony, He grants this grace

His miracles through human word.

From Padua first, to east and west

Arose a hymn of praise and fame;

Through heaven’s grace, we still affirm

Unending honour to your name.

May glory to the father be

And to the Son eternally

The spirit too, in essence one,

In persons three, be honour done.
