THANK YOU FAMILY PROMISE VOLUNTEERS!: During
the week of December 22
nd
, our Parish Center served as a temporary
home where Mater Christi Family Promise provided meals,
companionship and overnight shelter for a homeless family with a two
-year-old boy. Thank you to over sixty volunteers who gave so
generously of their time during this very busy holiday week by setting
up and breaking down the living space, organizing supplies, doing
laundry, making breakfast or dinner, acting as evening hosts and
staying overnight with our guests - we couldn’t have done it without
each and every one of you! New volunteers are always welcome!

[email protected] or (518) 489-3204 Ext. 4.
WEDNESDAY EVENING MASS: Join us in celebrating Mass
every Wednesday at 5:30pm in the church.
As we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord,
our parish family congratulates and recognizes the 49
individuals baptized into our Catholic faith at Mater
Christi in 2019:
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK: JAN. 26 – FEB.1
For 45 years, the National Catholic Educational Association
(NCEA) has led the celebration of National Catholic Schools
Week (CSW). The celebration begins each year on the last
Sunday in January and continues through the first Saturday in
February.
Schools and dioceses all across the United States find unique
ways to celebrate Catholic school education during CSW. A
myriad of open houses, special Masses, daily themes, school
activities, parish events, community recognition, service hours,
and a national day of giving highlight the value of Catholic edu-
cation.
There is much to celebrate in Catholic schools with high school
graduation rates of 99 percent and academic excellence in
national test scores that consistently outperform other religious,
non-sectarian and public schools, by as much as 20 percent.
Service and faith formation round out what makes Catholic
schools distinctive as strong communities of faith, knowledge
and witness.
For the second year, CSW will include Many Gifts, One Nation:
A Day of Giving to Catholic Schools in the lineup of daily
themes and celebratory events. On Tuesday, January 29, from
12 PM ET through Wednesday, January 30 at 12 PM ET, all
Catholic schools can invite alumni and any individuals who feel
they have been positively impacted by Catholic schools to give
back to a local Catholic school by making donations directly to
a school through the school website. This day of giving is made
possible through the generous support of FACTS. Find Mater
Christi’s Giving Day link at https://www.facebook.com/
