LENTEN PENANCE SERVICE—ULYSSES
SUNDAY, MARCH 8TH, 2020 AT 6:00 PM As part of our Lenten offering, we invite everyone to join us for our Communal Penance Service. Lent is a time that allows us to examine our conscience & promote spiritual healing. All are welcome to attend and are invited to par-ticipate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation as individual and as community.
EVERY FRIDAY OF LENT 6:00 PM—English 6:30 PM— Spanish
The Knights of Columbus will have a food drive again during this Lenten period. You can make a difference in our church and community. Our food
drive will help the needy at our Loaves and Fish Pantry that is open every Thursday. This is a great opportunity for everyone, young and old, the sacrifice of giving to those who need food for their family. The Knights will start their food drive on March 1st and last to April 12th. We are asking Mary Queen of Peace parish to help us with the food drive and trying to meet our goal of 2000 pounds. Items that are needed at the food bank are: cans of tomatoes, tomato sauce, crackers, canned fruit juice, canned fruit, tuna cans, sloppy Joe sauce, soup, hamburg-er helpers and anything a family could use to feed their families. We also want to inform the parish that any knight would pick up your items at home or money that we could go and buy needed food items. Any questions about the food drive, call David Waldron at 356-4161. There will be boxes at the entrances of the church to place you food items for the food drive.
Dear Families, during Lent our community
will participate in CRS Rice Bowl, a faith-
in-action program that invites us to reflect
on the challenges of global hunger—and
our responsibility to respond to the needs of our global human
family. We will be reminded through the Gospel story of Jesus
feeding the 5,000 that if we commit to sharing what we have
with those in need, trusting in God's abundance, there is more
than enough to feed everyone. Through our Lenten prayers,
fasting and almsgiving, we can respond to the call to ensure
that all our brothers and sisters are fed good, nutritious food
that gives them what they need to fulfill their God-given poten-
tial. Please consider these suggestions in your family’s Lenten
plan: • Use your CRS Rice Bowl and Lenten Calendar daily to
guide your prayer, fasting and almsgiving. • We will collect
your CRS Rice Bowls at the end of Lent, so stay tuned to learn
more. Thank you for participating in CRS Rice Bowl with your
family. The new Assignments List are located in each entrance of the Church. Please pick up yours. This includes all new people who signed on the stewardship forms. We are so happy with how blessed we are with you and your desire to serve in the house of God. Thank you!
