STEWARDSHIP AS A WAY OF LIFE
TIME | TALENT | TREASURE
NEXT STEWARDSHIP MEETING: Monday, February 10th, 5:30 pm, Lower Hall
THANK YOU GOOD STEWARDS!!
We want to thank all the good stewards who continue to give of their Talent and Treas-ure to the Pier Giorgio Agape Outreach Min-istry. In January, they served 632 plates to 457 guests, with the help of 125 volunteers
working 298 hours!! May God reward these good stewards for their generosity to those in most need in our community! If you would like to be a part of this ministry, please contact Janet Cleaveland at 360-713-4160.
WHAT IS STEWARDSHIP?
“How shall I make a return to the Lord for all the good he has done for me?” (Psalm 116:12)
Stewardship, quite simply, is recognizing that everything we have and everything we are is a gift from God and being grate-ful and generous with those gifts. We aren’t “owners” of any-thing, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts that God has given us. Stewardship isn’t a process, or a campaign, or an account-ing of our gifts. Rather, it is a lifestyle rooted in gratitude and generosity. The whole point of stewardship is to help each other strengthen our relationship with God and get to Heaven! The foundation of stewardship is prayer – talking and listening to God every day, throughout the day. Stewardship means put-ting complete trust in God, in all things. Stewardship means sharing all of our gifts, especially that one that means the most to you. By sharing all of our gifts, it helps us keep God first in everything, from putting other “gods” before God. It helps us live “God-centered” lives and not “self-centered” lives. Of all the gifts that God gives us, the one He wants the most is our heart. He wants us to share out of love, not out of obligation. When we align our thoughts and actions with God’s plan and use our gifts in the way God intended, our lives become trans-formed with Joy, Love, Mercy and Peace! Archdiocese of St. Louis.

FAITH IN ACTION
Protect Life Crusaders PRAY – INFORM—ACT
Next Meeting: Monday, February 10th, 6:30 pm, Lower Hall
THE 40 DAYS FOR LIFE CAMPAIGN BEGINS ASH WEDNESDAY—FEBRUARY 26TH! Pray, fast and offer life-affirming alternatives to abortion at Vancouver’s local Planned Parenthood abortion center (NE 116th Ave, one block north of Mill Plain). The Opening Rally is on Sat, Feb. 22, from 2-3 pm at the vigil site. For more info call/text Gerry Parmantier at 360-831-7542.
DID YOU KNOW A message from Tom McClusky, March for Life Action President: As Marchers return home from the various Marches for Life across the country, we want to encourage all to work for life year-round every day of the year. You can continue to make your voice heard on life-related issues as they are being decid-ed. In addition to federal issues, you can make an impact for life at the state level – your local lawmakers need to hear from you! 2020 is an extremely important year and we need your voice! Below is a list of major upcoming 2020 legislative bat-tles to be actively contacting your elected officials about.
Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act: Pro-Abortion Repre-sentatives continue to block a vote on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would require that any child who survives an attempted abortion be given full medical at-tention in an effort to save their lives.
June Medical Services v. Gee: June Medical, an abor tion provider in Louisiana, is challenging the constitutionality of the Louisiana Law that requires that all abortionists have ad-mitting privileges at hospitals-- which could essentially allow abortion providers to abandon their patients should there be a complication during the procedure. This is the first abortion issue to reach the Supreme Court since additional pro-life judges were appointed.
Equal Rights Amendment (ERA): The ERA, defeated in the 1970s and early 1980s, is making headway in the states again; it threatens protections for women and creates a back-door to abortion. The House of Representatives is expected to hold a vote on it in February.
Weldon Amendment and Conscience Rights: The Weldon Amendment provides that states receiving federal funds may not discriminate against health plans based on their decision not to cover or pay for abortions.
Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act: Senate Bill S.160 would ban abortions beyond 20 weeks of gestation, the current threshold for when a fetus can feel pain. We are hop-ing for Senate hearings and a vote on this bill.
Pro-Life Judges: Finally, we hope to build on President Trump's already impressive Legacy of 187 District judges, with more nominations being confirmed in the Senate.
This is a crucial time for pro-life legislation. Thank you for using your voice for change! Contact your local and state elected officials now!!
GET THE FACTS. GET INVOLVED. BE A CRUSADER!
