Synthetic Cubism
•A style of art employing abstracted geometric forms including the use of the collage method.

Expressionism•A 20th Century art movement developed in Germany. This style of art is dominated by the artist’s personal vision of the subject conveying an emotional dimension
Triptych – a painting comprised of three separate panels
Hegelian Dialectic – a philosophy developed by Georg Hegel which states that one concept (thesis) generates it’s own opposite (anti-thesis) and the interaction of the two leads to another new concept (synthesis)
High Relief – Sculpted forms that protrude boldly from the background
Bas Relief – Sculpted forms that project slightly from the background
Casting – sculpture process in which a media is melted and poured into a mold or investment to create the form
ASSEMBLY – Sculpting process in which the artist creates or gathers media to put together the artwork
Carving – the reductive method of sculpting in which the sculpted form is cut or chipped from the media
Relief Printing – print method in which the image to be printed is raised from the printing plate
Intaglio – print method in which the image to be printed is cut or carved into the surface of the plate
Lithography – printing process which etches the image into limestone, each plate devoted to a color
Screen Printing – a process in which the image to be printed passes through a stencil created on stretched silk
