Our Talented Artists Add Flare to the AuctionPenny Nichols’ artistic talents have been put to good use for this year’s auction, “An Evening in Paris.” Her original painting of a Paris street scene was used for the invitations and will also be featured as an Almost-Live item in the auction. In addition she’ll be acting the part of a street artist, creating more original work live and on the spot. We are so fortunate to have her on our staff, teaching our children, and volunteering at the auction. Thank you, Miss Penny! Auction guests will also be treated to amazing décor, created by Laura Ryan and her team. Shops, cafés, balconies and archways will line the walls, transforming the ballroom into the colorful streets of Paris. Many thanks to Laura and her team. Tickets are still on sale and we are looking forward to a fabulous evening!

FIFTH GRADE – Students gave four impressive performances to enthusiastic audiences last weekend and yesterday. The expression, “The show must go on” took on personal significance on Saturday, as pounding rain and booming thunder competed for audience attention. Needless to say, the storm was no match for these talented 5th grade students.
KIF TENNIS – Island School battled the Warriors of Kapa‘a High School on Saturday at the Kaua‘i Community College tennis courts. “It was an exciting and rewarding day,” said Coach Ernie Blachowiak. Island School opened the contest by winning the first two men’s matches with seniors, Ryan
Perez and Garret Beyer posting solid performances. Although we lost both the boys and girls team matches, there were many outstanding efforts and close matches. “All Island School players conducted themselves in an exemplary manner, stayed focused, played each point to the best of their ability with a positive mental attitude. These are outcomes which overshadow the score,” said their proud Coach Ernie.
