This is known as the ‘London Peace Pagoda’ which contains a

statue of Buddha in Battersea park. This is where we intend to

shoot the first scene of our teaser trailer. This scene will include

a seemingly enjoyable conversation between the three step

brothers. The rationale behind shooting her is simple I want tousethe peaceful symbolism that is associated with Buddha. As

a consequence through the use of mise-en-scene, I can then

symbolize and portray that when the step brothers are together

that they feel secure and at peace.



Council estates are usually associated with negative stereotypes,

raging from gangs and the usage/selling of illegal drugs. I plan on

utilizing these gritty stereotypes surrounding council estates, similar to

what is seen in the movie ‘Harry Brown’ to make the audience feel

uneasy.

In contrast with the Peace Pagoda, filming at this council estate in

Clapham Junction will place the main protagonist ‘Brian McCarthy’ in

an intimidating environment; outside of his comfort zone. We plan to

shoot the ‘Mugging scene’ at this location.



I plan to shoot in central London because there are many landmarks that are globally

recognizable, for example the London eye, Westminster and the Big Ben.

This is the perfect opportunity to film an establishing shot. Another pro of filming in

central London (south bank to be specific) is that it can reveal a lot about my main

protagonists, for example it reveals that they may be economically stable because

being able to visit central London (let alone live in London) is expensive. I want to film

a depth of field shot of Brian McCarthy walking in the crowded streets of Southbank.

This is meant to symbolize that he feels alone in his situation and he feels like

everything and everybody around him are of little significance.



AlltheMcCarthybrotherswillbewearingNike,AdidasandTopshopclothesthroughoutthetrailer.TheresultsfromoursurveyshowedthatNikewasthemostpopularbrandwhereasAdidasandTopmanwerecloseseconds.

Furthermore,duetothefeedbackfrommyfocusgroup,Inowrecognizetheimportanceofchoosingtherightcostumestoportrayaspecificimageorpersonality.IwanttheMcCarthybrotherstobeportrayedwithrespect.

ThereforeIhavedecidedtodresstheMcCarthybrothersinthesethreepopularbrands;inhopesthatourtargetaudiencewillrespectthemainprotagonists.Ialsowantourtargetaudiencetorecognizetheirfavoritefashionbrandsand

thenidentifythemselves(andtheirsimilarfashioninterests)withtheMcCarthybrothers.Ibelievethatasaresultofthisidentificationwiththemainprotagonists,theaudiencewillfindthemrelatableandauthentic.Thereforetherationalebehind

dressingtheMcCarthybrothersinthesepopularbrands,istoincreasetheaudience’slevelofinterestwiththemainprotagonists.
