*All our products contain a standalone version.Support is offered for these operating systems and software platforms. This doesn’t mean our plugins will not work in your DAW, just download the Demo and try (Please check that your host software is compatible with your operating system first).

iLok User ID And iLok License ManagerPlease create an iLok account in http://www.ilok.com and download the latest version of the iLok license manager application. This will allow you to register your serial number and deposit your license in your computer or an iLok USB key. Install iLok License Manager, open up the program and log in with the iLok User ID information you created in ilok.com. When logged in, a list of available destinations for license placement will be displayed under your User ID, such as your computer and iLok USB Keys. A list of all currently activated products will be shown in the main right list window. Inactive licenses will be shown in the “available” tab on the top.

You can drag and drop licenses to deposit them in your computer or iLok USB Keys.

NEURAL DSP User Account In your NEURAL DSP account you will have access to your product installers and latest updates.

To login into your user account, go to http://www.neuraldsp.com and click on the “Login” button in the upper right-hand corner. If you don’t have a user account, create one by clicking “Create Account” inside the same login window.

Low SectionDialing a high gain sound with presence, definition, and clarity require that a certain amount of low end is removed from the spectrum to be distorted. The audio signal at low compression section pass straight to the graphic equalizer, bypassing the cabinet. Also, in stereo mode the low compression section remains in mono.

ON/OFF Low Compression Button: Press to activate or bypass. This will turn on/off the entire low band and low compression processing.Compression Knob: The amount of gain reduction is determined by this knob. Make up gain (from 0db to +10db) is included in this parameter (Attack 3.0 / Release 6.0 / Ratio 2.0 - designed of analog bass compressor).Low Pass Knob: This filter removes high frequencies and passes the low-frequency signal.Low Level Knob: You can adjust the output signal and compensates for an eventual volume-loss caused by the compression.

Parallax Features

Channel Strip SectionParallax is a multi-band distortion for Bass. This plugin is meant to bring the user a ready tool, which is based on a studio technique used by audio engineers and producers to craft their Bass tone. The plugin consists of splitting the Bass, Mids and High frequencies to process them separately, with distortion and compression, and mix them back together.

Mid SectionThe Mid Drive has enough dynamic range to go from mild saturation to blistering high gain, all without losing an iota of definition and articulation. We designed multiple tube gain stages for the Mid and Treble bands separately.

ON/OFF Mid Distortion Button: Press to activate or bypass. This will turn on/off the entire mid saturation processing.Mid Drive Knob: The amount of saturation is determined by this knob.Low Level Knob: This knob adjust the output signal.

High SectionThe HPF Frequency control allows for dialing the perfect amount of fuzz or tightness to your bass signal. We designed multiple tube gain stages for the Mid and Treble bands separately.

ON/OFF High Distortion Button: Press to activate or bypass. This will turn on/off the entire high saturation processing.

EQ SectionWhile the Low, Mid and High sections offer total control of the distortion texture, attack, and overall size, the six band graphic equalizer provide an additional control layer for fine tuning the Parallax’s frequency response to perfection.

ON/OFF Equalizer Button: You can turn On/Off the EQ filter. EQ Bands: Bank of 6 sliders controls used to boost or cut frequency bands from -12db to +12db (100hz Low Shelf - 250hz - 500hz - 1.0khz - 1.5khz - 5.0khz High Shelf).

Parametric EQ SectionThe High-fidelity Parametric EQ allows you to see graphically and control individually the three frequency bands. It offers continuous control over filters position and level gain.

“L” Band: You can control the low pass filter and low level by drag and moving the “L” circle.“M” Band:You can control the mid level by drag and moving the “M” circle.“H” Band: You can control the high pass filter and high level by drag and moving the “H” circle.

If you right-click on the parametric EQ screen, you can personalize the following items:Show Analyzer: Turn on/off the signal analyzer.Show Bands:Turn on/off the band curves.Grid Mode: Change the grid scale (none - octave - decade).

Neural DSP Cab SimulationWe have designed a Cabinet simulation for this plugin, affecting only Highs and Mids. It includes 6 microphones with a range of different positions.

ON/OFF Switch: Disables or Enables the respective IR loader Section. Position: Controls where the Microphone is, meaning from the Center of the Cone, to the Edge of the Cone. (Disabled when loading external IR file).Distance: Controls the Distance of the Mic between close to the Cab and Far towards the Room. (Disabled when loading external IR file).

Mic Level: Controls the level of the selected impulse. Pan: Controls the output panning of the selected impulse. Ø Phase Inverter Switch: Inverts the phase of the loaded impulse.Impulse Loader Selector Box: Drop down menu for selecting factory Microphones and loading your own IR files. The folder path will be saved, then you can navigate through them by clicking left/right navigation arrows.Drag to position: This feature refers to clicking on the Microphone, will allow you to position the Microphone within the Cone area. The values will be reflected on the Position and Distance knobs and vice versa.

Plugin Global Features

Audio Setup (standalone only): Audio settings menu. You can select the audio interface to use, set the input/output channels, modify sample rate and buffer size.Input and Output Gain knobs: Input will affect on how much

signal the plugin will feed in. This will affect the amount of distortion range of the Gain pots in the Head and Booster Gain knob. Adjust according to your purposes and input signal levels. The output will affect on how much signal the plugin will feed out to your DAW channel. Meters will show if input or output signal are clipping by holding a red indicator for 3 seconds.

Stereo Signal Processing Switch: Stereo Signal Processing Switch: Original hardware has the power to process only a mono input signal. With the Stereo switch, you are able to process a Stereo input signal. Ideal for running stereo Bass tracks or experimenting. Note that in stereo mode the low compression section remains in mono.

Quality Switch: Changes the quality with which the plugin will process the signal, based on different levels of oversampling (2x Normal and 4x High). The higher the quality, more processing CPU power needed.

Resize Button: Click to resize the plugin Window. The resize button will cycle through 3 possible sizes. If your screen is small it will only show 2 possible sizes.

Presets

This functionality allows the user to Save, Import and Export presets, understood by parameter values within the plugin.

Navigation Arrows: Use them to navigate through the presets by clicking left/right.

Save Button: The Disquette Icon on the left, allows the user to save the current configuration as a preset.

Dropdown Menu: The arrow on the right side of the list displays a list of the presets included by factory, artists and the ones created by the user.

Delete Button: The trash bin on the right allows the user to delete the active preset. (This action cannot be undone). If you tweak an existing saved preset and you need to recall the saved version, please load another preset and load back

your desired preset. Clicking on the name of the modified preset once its loaded will NOT recall its values.

Load Preset: You can load presets from other locations (XML files).

Presets Folder Shortcut: Go to the Magnifying Glass icon on the Presets toolbar to redirect you to your Presets Folder.

Where are my presets located?Windows: C:\ProgramData\Neural DSP\ParallaxMac OSX: HD - Library - Audio - Presets - Neural DSP - Parallax

Custom Folders

You can create folders to organize your presets under the main directory. The dropdown menu will be updated the next time you open Fortin Nameless Suite.

PLUGIN FEATURES

Parallax GUI Basics Parallax feature knobs and switches within the graphic user interface (also known as GUI). These resemble the ones in the physical analog hardware with added control.

Section Bypass: To bypass a whole section, right click or double click on the upper top icons. Channel Strip and Cabinet Section can be bypassed.

Knobs and Sliders : To control the knobs in Parallax, use the mouse: To turn a knob right or clockwise, click on the control with your mouse and slide the cursor up. To turn a knob left or anticlockwise click on the knob with the mouse and slide the cursor down. You can control the sliders by the same way.

Returning a Knob to its Default Value: To return to the knobs “default value”, hold the ALT key and click the parameter or double click the knob.

Adjusting a Knob with Fine Control: To fine adjust the knob values, hold down the command key (Mac) or the shift key (Windows) while dragging the mouse.

Buttons and Switches: Parallax has buttons and switches as well. To change the value of a button or a switch, click to ON/OFF A white LED type indicator will illuminate to let you know a parameter is engaged.
