PARA HILLS RESIDENTIAL CARE October 2019 NEWSLETTER

Sunday the 1st of September was Father’s day. All the men were given a card and a

handmade chocolate.

On the 4th of September a group of residents and staff went to the Royal Adelaide Show. It

did rain a little but mostly the weather was pretty good. We had a great time looking in the

pavilions, tasting food, buying show bags, playing on the clowns and holding snakes. This time

we hired two buses, which was on time and everything went well. Thank you to all the staff

that donated their time in making this a success. A big thank you to Jackie for planning most

of the day.

On the 10th, we went off site to trial an exercise class in the Community. Kath really enjoyed

this outing and benefitted a lot for the class. We returned on the 24th with two residents

and they had a good time and would like to go again. Every fortnight a group will be attending

this outing.

On the 11th we had the residents Footy Tipping Competition Presentation. Congratulations to

Les for coming first, Peggy for coming second and Kay and Linda for tying for third.

On the 18th we held an “In house memorial service “for Mary. She had been at the home for

over 11 years and next week she would have been 103. She will be dearly missed.

On Friday the 20th we picked some oranges from our tree and juiced them. Most of the

residents thought they were a bit sour but still drank the juice.

Saturday the 28th was the AFL Grand Final between Richmond and the Giants (GWS) and it

was a one sided game with Richmond winning by 87 points.

Comments and Complaints

Does everyone know that if you have a problem you CAN do something about it?

The Helping Us to Care Brochures is located at the Kesters notice board which is at the

Kesters Road entrance to the Nursing Home.

There are also some located in the Ceafield Wing both near the notice board and on the

bookcase.

You can also always ask one of our friendly staff if you cannot find them.

Feedback is an integral part of improving the home and providing the highest quality of care

to all residents.
