THE PARA Project is a bilateral project of the BSCC spanning the

U.S.-Mexico border to protect men women and children and others from the injustices of Human

Trafficking and exploitation.  PARA seeks to end trafficking through four

major tenants:

1)Prevention:

BSCC will partner with NCMEC in their CASE campaign to combat child trafficking and sexual exploitation, BSCC will advocate for victims rights, continue to do outreach and policy changes

2)Awareness: Getting the word out using media

forums and conferences, about what trafficking is, and how to spot it

3) Reporting: Giving people the power to report their suspicions toauthorities Through the BSCC emergency number and 211 will be provided cross disciplines County wide.Our responders will eliminate the fear of contact with police and federal agents; Our Hope poster will be distributed

county-wide.

4) Action: PARA makes the case that there is no true reform withoutaction.Through BSCC PARA project and its programs will bring

together people from all ages, ethnicities, wage earners, genders, and political persuasions.

• Be involved in extracurricular activities such as sports, art, and music; participate in community service, etc.

• Obey your parent (s)/ guardians).• Educate the students and the people

about human trafficking• Give free presentations at elementary,

high school, colleges, and universities about human trafficking.

• Be aware of your surroundings. Victims may just be right next to us, we just need to be more alert and aware.

• Don’t hesitate to report, there is always someone who can help a human trafficking victim.

• Take as much information as you can, this can be crucial to rescuing trafficking victims.

• Be safe at all times; be aware of your surroundings as well as the people that you interact with.

• Contact the emergency hotline of the authorities/police when in doubt or suspicion of a person’s situation. Human trafficked victims look just like the rest of us.

• Do not put yourself in danger. Tell someone who is of authority or has more experience in rescuing victims about the information that you gather regarding a trafficked victim. Do not rescue or act by yourself.

• Make sure that the victim is safe.

• Be proactive in reporting a crime. Always make sure that you are safe before you report what you know that involves human trafficking.
