� Belonged to a middle class family.

� Had 3 sisters and 1 elder brother.

� Harischandra Narayan Patil his elder brother.

� He worked in Railways.



� Had good physic.

� Use to do exercise at home.

� Inculcated exercising habit among friends and

also in Mr. Pappi.

� Died when Mr. Pappi was just 16 years of age.

� Mr. Patil studied till 8th Std. in a Govt. School.



� Got inspired from his brother.

� Continued what his brother had started.

� Due to lack of finance and also being elder in the

family there were many responsibilities on him.

� 3 sisters were to get married and household

expenses.



� Started exercising at home.

� Later joined ´Ray Barble Clubµ. (17-18yrs.)

� Started participating in competitions(U-21yrs)

� Won prizes too.

� Friends called him ´ Musclemanµ.

� Had great family responsibility on his

shoulders.



� Got a job in Railways because of good physic.

� He had an idea of having a gym.

� He decided to make the instruments by himself.

� He took measurements from the gym he visited.

� Took the help of his friend for making theinstruments.



� The instruments were ready but space was anotherproblem.

� His relative gave his place, but the area was not good.

� Took the help from the politician and he also got thatplace cleaned up.

� After that, there was a big problem of capital.



� Due to lack of capital, improper infrastructure.

� Started building it himself along with his friends.

After all the struggle, he finally got his gym started.

� For inauguration of gym he invited defense minister.



� Friends joined the gym.

� He charged Re.1 as fees.

� One good thing was he din·t have to pay any

rent for his gym.

� More members started joining the gym.

� Again space problem aroused.

Got a place in Mahim area.



� His relative helped him financial to set up thegym.

� He started gym named as ´Slimwellµ. (1964)

� He had arrangements for steam bath.

� He also installed Vibrators.

� Appointed good trainers.

� Flim stars like Rekha, Nana patekar, Rakhi &Kiran.

� Sachin Tendulkar & Sandeep Patil exercised.



� An navy officer asked him for the instruments.

� He saw the opportunity and thought of selling the

instruments.

� He din·t have workshop.

�

He bought land to build the workshop for theinstruments.



� He started getting orders.

� His instruments were of superior quality.

� He also made some innovations in the

instruments .

� He personally went to the clients place to

install the instruments.



� Now he has clients in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi

and Vishakhapatnam.

� He opened gym in various parts under the brand

´Slimwell.µ

� He has 5 gyms under his belt:

²Dahisar ² 1985

ï Nalasopara ² 1986

ïPanvel ² 2002



ïDhanu ² 2003

� He is planning to open gyms in Pune and

Nagpur.

� At present he is Vice-President(Lifetime) of

´Maharashtra Body Building Association.µ



� At present Slimwell is second best only to

Talwalkars.

� It was the first gym started for Slimming.

� It has a separate section for ladies.

� His younger son is looking after the gyms.

� Elder son has his own workshop.

� Mr. Pappi Patil was of the view that,
