PAPER MAKING METHODOLOGY
Supplies: I) Paper you want to recycle (any kind of paper, even colored)
II) Mixer
III) 2 Plastic bowls
IV) Sponge
V) 2 Sieves
VI) Iron (optional: if you want to finish faster)
VII) 2 Towels (optional: if you want to finish faster)
Methodology:
• Rip into small pieces the paper you want to recycle and put them in the mixer with a good amount of water (don’t worry about the exact amount).
• Blend the mixture for 10-20 seconds. Put one sieve in the bowl with some water in it and carefully spill the mixture on.
• Put the second sieve on top and then carefully take it all out into the second plastic bowl.
• With the sponge you want to dry out as much water as you can and carefully remove the two sieves.
• Practically, the paper making is now over (it’s that easy). • You can either, let the paper dry out or put it between the towels and use the iron
for faster results. • Now, you can also put the paper between some books and press it in order to get
thinner.

Medieval Scroll: Most steps are the same as above:
• Rip into small pieces the newspaper you want to recycle and put them in the mixer with a good amount of water (don’t worry about the exact amount).
• With the same methodology we make a second piece of paper and we connect them both in order to be longer (like a medieval scroll)
• You can either, let the paper dry out or put it between the towels and use the iron for faster results.
• Now, you can also put the paper between some books and press it in order to get thinner.
• We take two pieces of wood straight and longer than the scroll in order to make roll it around them
• On the four edges of the piece we can glue whatever we like (like small stars, or anything else) in order for our scroll to look better. (here you can improvise)
• We put glue on top of the pieces of wood in order for the paper, after it has dried out, to hold onto them.
• Our medieval scroll is ready!
