Hodges University has
been recognized as a
Military Friendly
School by GI Jobs Magazine
More than 761,000 military, veterans and family members have taken advantage of the Post-9/11 GI Bill since it took effect in August 2009. That number will continue to grow as hundreds of thousands of service members transition from the military over the next several years, and Hodges University is proud to support and recognize the special needs of our Veteran Students.
With such a dizzying array of choices – there are more than 11,000 institutions of higher learning in the United States alone The Military Friendly Schools® list can help. Created to help students make an informed decision, the 1,739 schools on the 2013 list represent the top 15% of America’s colleges, universities and trade/vocational schools that offer the best support, flexibility and value for active duty military and veterans pursuing an education. While the list has always been selective, they have raised the bar even higher this year for the thousands of schools competing for the honor.
“The competition for our 2013 Military Friendly Schools list was fierce, and as a result we raised the already stringent criteria to a higher benchmark,” said Rich McCormack, G.I. Jobs publisher.
The list measures the programs and services important to the military community, including a school’s flexibility, veteran student support, academic accreditation, percentage of student veterans, tuition discounts and military spouse policies. A Military Friendly Schools Academic Advisory Board helps determine the survey questions and weightings.
“Military Friendly Schools is the only known list of institutions which possesses and measures student outcome data, graduation rates and student veteran support services in defining standards of excellence,” said Susan T. Meyer, director of MSBA Programs, College of Business, Colorado State University and a Military Friendly Schools Academic Advisory Board member. “We have long used this data along with their academic accreditation in determining which schools are military friendly.”
