Relay for life goes

from 12pm on April

24th to 12 on April

Adopt a Dolphin?!

Delta of the Week: Kelsey Hjalmarson

Relay for Life StatusHere are a couple of stats

on our status in compari-

son to the other sororities

in Relay for Life so far…

AXO

48 team members

Raised: $98

Alpha Phi

45 team members

Raised: $420

Tri Delta

30 members

Raised: $100

Delta Gamma

115 team members

Raised: $0

KKG

54 team members

Raised: $84

Kappa Sigma

21 team members

Raised:$25

And these are just the Pan-

hellenic teams I could find.

The team who has the

raised the most so far is

One Million Ways with

$840.

Let’s do our best!

I couldn’t date a guy who did-

n’t like my: Sense of humor

Role model: My Daddy

Perfect Starbucks Drink: Icecoffee with milk and vanilla

Mythical creature I wish were

real: Dragons

Most embarrassing moment:

When I was in middle school

in Music class, I leaned over in

my chair to pick up a paper

Major: Switching to Art

Hometown: San Diego

Weirdest food I’ve eaten: Cow

tongue

Favorite Animal: Monkey

Favorite Book: The Catcher in

the Rye

If I were a Disney Princess I’d

be: Mulan

Superpower Preference: To be

a genius

and ended up falling down stairs

that were in the classroom and

smacked my head on the

teacher’s desk… in front of

everyone.

Three Random Facts:

1. I’m Icelandic.

2. I have one kidney.

3. I hate peanut butter

While it would be awe-

some to own your own

dolphin, the odds are

against you, but there is a

small loophole.

As a chapter, we could

adopt/sponsor a dolphin.We help keep their home

clean and protect them

from the tuna can. It’s a

win, win!

To find out more go to:

https:/secure.defenders.org/

site/SPageServer?

pagename=wagc_dolphin

What really happens dur-

ing ritual?- my friends

would ask. I’d lean in real

close and whisper in their

ear, “You’d never believe

it, they have a secret dol-

phin lair under the house.

In order to get initiated

you have to bond to a

dolphin which thereafter

becomes eternally yours.”

sand boxes. When walking out I

looked down at my hands, theywere dirty, dry, and blistered

(No joke!). I think not enough

of us take a second to think of

how well we actually have it;

our pantry stocked every week

with multiple opportunities.

Many families like the ones that

are lucky enough to receive a

box from the O.C. Food Bank

I went into my experience at

the O.C. Food Bank with reallyno idea what to expect. I knew

we would be packaging food

boxes but I had never thought

of the amount of physical labor

it would take to fill one box

alone. Everyone was placed in a

station, mine was tomato juice.

For two hours we placed our

items into a little over a thou-

don’t get choices or a guarantee

of dinner. Looking back on thisexperience I can honestly say it

is one of the best ones I will

ever have. I have a new found

respect for the food that’s in

our pantry, just knowing that

most families of 4 only get 1

box a week that consists of 2

boxes of generic cereal, 2 cans

of peaches, 2 cans of salmon, 2

night. Sign-in tables are openfrom 6:30-7:30pm. They are

taking the sign-in sheet awaypromptly at 7:30 so make sureto get there early. Last timethere was a huge line to get inbut they kept the sign-insheets out late for everyone. They aren’t going to be so niceabout it this time. And remem-ber, wear your songfest shirtto the game. If you still want asongfest shirt they are sellingthem at the Songfest booth.

If we have the most peoplesign-in to the game we win400 points. That would put usonly 300 points behind DG andKSig .

On another note concerningpoints, make sure to bringcans in and turn in your “A”s.If you weren’t at meeting thispast Monday, Jaime has prom-ised us 10 cans for every “A”we turn in (same system asSmarty Panties). I already havea list of girls from Smarty Pant-ies for this quarter going that Iwill turn into her, so you caneither e-mail Jaime your “A”s

or myself at [email protected] I will turn them in for you.

Last quarter’s final grades thatwere “A”s count too. Makesure to turn them in!

Let’s not make Jaime do all thework though. You can donatea dollar to the Songfest juglocated in the House livingroom. That, or next timeyou’re buying your groceries, stop by the can isle and grab acouple extra to donate.

Remember everyone: 1000cans is NO easy task WITHOUThard work.

And Lastly, just so you can befamiliar with the other pairingsshows:AXO & FIJI/Beta in Fame AlphaPhi & SAE in Rock of Ages GPhiB & Sigma Nu in Xanadu Tri Delta & AEPi in Grease Delta Gamma & KSig in Chicago Theta & SigmaChi in 9 to 5

As we are all well aware, thisweek is songfest week. Activi-

ties consist of twitter keyterms, mysterious games andmen’s volleyball. Although itmay seem to have no link toSongfest itself, the fact is thatit gets us points. That beingsaid, let’s all do our best toshow some Delta dominationthis week.

Tuesday: Make sure to sign inat the booth. You will have toknow the secret word so

please look it up on either theSongfest twitter or their web-page (found by typing in song-fest in the UCI website searchbox and then clicking on thefirst link). If you don’t haveinternet access you can textBarbara to check the word for you. There should be gamesout for you to play, so take abreak between classes andstop by.

Wednesday: The booth shouldstill be open for people to signin during the day, but moreimportantly, there is a Song-fest Volleyball game that
