The LuxPANEL range consists of a 600mm x 600mm panel that can also be suspended or surface mounted. Supplemented by 3 circular panels in 120mm, 173mm and 236mm diameters and 2 smaller square panels at 200mm and 300mm square.

All LuxPANEL’s are supplied with plug and play remote control gear and are available with standard fi xed output or dimmable versions and Maintained 3 hour duration Emergency control gear.

Quick & easy installation

With lighting consuming 20-30% of the power in offi ces and fl uorescent lighting used in over 85% of applications, there is huge potential to reduce power consumption and Co2 emissions - LuxPANEL typically saves over 50%.

Additional benefi ts exist for areas that use air conditioning as the 25% of power consumed there is reduced due to the vastly lower heat emitted from LuxPANEL, this also extends the life of the air conditioning plant as it is not worked so hard.

Whilst power consumption savings can be easily seen and quantifi ed, further saving benefi ts can’t be forgotten. These include no maintenance (lamp changes), no expensive disposal costs as no harmful materials are used in the LuxPANEL construction, Improved staff productivity and feeling of well being due to a pleasant bright environment.

LED’s provide not only a green alternative during the time they are operated, but even more so at end of life as they contain no harmful chemicals. The Mercury contained in just one fl uorescent lamp is enough to contaminate 30,000 litres of water beyond safe drinking level limits. Therefore, fl uorescent lamps are classed as hazardous waste and can be diffi cult and costly to safely dispose of.

LuxPANEL glossary of terms

Colour Rendering Index (CRI)Every light source has a rated ability to render colours and shades of. Natural daylight is 100, some traditional fl uorescent lamps are 55-60 and poor quality LED is also 60. LuxPANEL has a rating of >80.

Colour TemperatureAppearance of the light emitted by LuxPANEL and measured in degrees Kelvin. LuxPANEL has a cool/neutral white appearance of 4800k.

Edge LitAll LuxPANELS are Edge Lit, this means that the LED chips are positioned vertically around the perimeter of the panel. This provides an excellent uniformly illuminated panel in a fi xture as slim as 8mm.

Effi cacyThe lumens output divided by the total power consumption.

Illuminancethe amount of light falling onto a surface such as a desk top and measured in Lux.

LED Rated LifeLED chip fi gures are quoted by the chip manufacturer and in some cases these are not translated when the chip is used in a luminaire where it can run hotter. As heat affects the LED chip, the life can be reduced dramatically. LuxPANEL’s have been tested in accordance with recognised methods and the rated life is validated at 50,000hrs.

Light Output Ratio (LOR)Is the ratio/percentage of light emitted by the light source against the amount of light actually emitted by the luminaire. The higher the fi gure, the more effi cient the lumiaire is. It would typically be 0.5-0.6 for a fl uorescent luminaire and is 0.95 for LuxPANEL.

LumensThe measure of light emitted from a source. As LED is used in a far more effi cient manner, lower lumen output fi gures can be used.

Lumen MaintenanceThis is the duration in time when the LED chips reach a percentage of their initial lumen output. LuxPANEL is LM80 @ 50,000hrs, so 80% of the output should still be present at that duration.

Luminancethe surface brightness of an object and measured in candelas/m2.

Maintained EmergencyLuxPANELs are available with the option of Maintained Emergency control gear. This will power the luminaire for a minimum duration of 3hrs, or until power is reinstated, at a reduced output, to allow safe evacuation of the area.

Remote LED DriverLuxPANEL’s use a remote plug and play LED Driver, that offers fl exibility to select either a fi xed output or dimmable driver and emergency versions, all that can be interchangeable

Tpa PanelLuxPANEL uses a Tpa rated diffuser. This fl ame retardant material satisfi es building regulations and also British Standards for Emergency luminaire construction. In the event of a fi re, the diffuser will not drip plastic below, which could spread the fi re or fall on to occupants.

WattageThe power consumed by the LuxPANEL.

Installations must be carried out by a registered contractor and in accordance with the terms and conditions detailed on the registration page.

By using components from industry leading suppliers whom BG have strong relationships with, we are able to offer this quality guarantee.

*For products with Emergency control gear, the extended guarantee is limited to 4 years for the emergency components, due to the rated service life of the batteries.

3 year Guarantee - Where an installation is not registered, to qualify for the extended guarantee BG offers a standard guarantee for a 3 year period.

In the unlikely event of a validated product failure during this period, BG will arrange for the product to be repaired or replaced at our discretion. This service is offered in addition to any statutory rights.

BG offer a 5 year* extended Guarantee against LuxPANEL products where the installation is registered at www.bgelectrical.co.uk/guarantee

Should a product that has been correctly specifi ed, professionally installed and operated in accordance with the specifi ed parameters,

fail within 12 months of installation BG will arrange for an experienced lighting professional to visit the site and make corrective action as required. This may involve either repair or replacement of the product. Contact BG for more information.
