• Es un proceso trilateral, permanente, hacia una mayor integración de América del Norte, que será evaluado por los Mandatarios de manera semestral.

• A través de esta Alianza, México, Estados Unidos y Canadá comparten los siguientes objetivos:

Agenda de Prosperidad. Promover el crecimiento económico, la competitividad y la calidad de vida en América del Norte, a través de una agenda concreta enfocada a:

• Aumentar la productividad; • Reducir los costos del comercio y los costos de transacción; • Promover de manera conjunta una mayor corresponsabilidad con nuestro

medio ambiente, la creación de una oferta de alimentos más confiable y segura, facilitando a la vez el comercio de productos agrícolas y la protección de nuestra población contra enfermedades.

• Esta agenda tiene por objetivo el impulsar la competitividad de la región de América del Norte y mejorar la calidad de vida de sus habitantes.

Dentro de los temas de la agenda de Prosperidad se encuentra: Convertir a América del Norte en el Mejor Lugar para Realizar Negocios

La competitividad de las empresas de América del Norte depende de un número de factores que influyen en el clima de negocios. Los tres países han identificado diversos elementos que incentivan la competitividad, y han acordado establecer las siguientes prioridades:

• Mejorar y Facilitar el Cumplimiento de los Procesos Regulatorios en América del Norte

• América del Norte Sin Piratería • Facilitar el Libre Comercio Mediante la Flexibilización de las Reglas de

Origen

Agenda de Seguridad. Desarrollar un enfoque común en materia de seguridad, a fin de proteger a América del Norte, destacando las acciones para:

• Proteger a la región de América del Norte contra amenazas externas; • Prevenir y responder a amenazas dentro de la región de América del

Norte; y • Aumentar la eficiencia del tránsito seguro de bajo riesgo a través de

nuestras fronteras compartidas. • La Alianza parte del hecho de que, hoy en día, la seguridad y la

prosperidad son mutuamente dependientes y complementarias.

• Asimismo, complementa esfuerzos bilaterales y trilaterales que actualmente están en marcha en materia económica y de seguridad, y revitaliza otros aspectos de la cooperación en la región para mejorar la calidad de vida; tales como la protección al medio ambiente y la salud pública, inversión en nuestra gente a través de intercambios académicos y científicos.

“Children Against Piracy”• Managed by IMPI, carried out from September to

December, 2008

• Winners will be awarded on April 24, 2009

• Children will make a drawing on what do they think about piracy and also how could they help to fight against such illegal activity

• Main objective: aware children on the value of creativity and innovation and about the importance of the protection of intellectual property rights

• Drawings received: 1414 in the first contest and 2282 in the second

• Children become child inspectors against piracy

• Managed by the Ministry of Economy in coordination with IMPI, BSA, IPN and the Mexican Centre for the Protection and Enhancement of Copyrights.

• First Contest of Digital Animation (2006). 10 works were received with a total of 22 participants.

• 2nd Contest of Digital Animation (2007-2008). 42 works were received with a total of 97 participants.

• The 3rd Contest was launched on October 23, 2008.

• Target to youths between 12 – 26 years old.

• Main objective: to promote the legal use of technology tools and to recognize the value of creativity, innovation and protection of IPR.

• IMPI has also two agreements with Mexican Associations of Customs Brokers

• Objective: To train each other on IPR and customs matter, to deter the international trade of pirated and counterfeit goods.

• 100 IMPI officials were trained about Customs Law, on 2007.

• IMPI has also trained 48 customs brokers regarding IPR, on march 2009.

XMAS CAMPAIGN

• An AMCHAM initiative in Mexico in coordination with the Mexican Federal Government

• Objective: create public awareness on the importance of legality

• Intents to decrease the purchase of counterfeit and pirated goods during xmas holidays.

• To confirm joint collaboration between the private and public sector concerning protection of IPR in Mexico.

• Was launched on November 25, 2008

ANTI-CAMCORDING CAMPAIGN

• An initiative of MPA, AMPROFON, APCM y CANACINE in collaboration with the Mexican Federal Government. An advertisement announcement will be displayed at the moment of the feature presentation.

2nd INTERNATIONAL MEETING ON IP

The main objective of this event is the experience and knowledge exchange, in the international IP field.

First meeting: Cancún, Quintana Roo, February, 2008. Second meeting: Monterrey, Nuevo León, March 25-27, 2009.

The first meeting was very successful with the participation of judges and specialist on IP of different countries all over the world such as Argentina, Colombia, United States, Mexico, Peru, The Hague, Spain and specialist of WIPO.

ENCUENTRO INTERNACIONAL DE PIEl objetivo de este evento es el intercambio de experiencias y conocimientos en materia de Propiedad Intelectual.

El primer encuentro se realizó en Cancún, Quintana Roo en febrero de 2008.

El segundo encuentro se realizó en Monterrey, Mexico, del 25-27 de Marzo de 2009.

El segundp encuentro fue muy exitoso y contó con la participación de jueces y especialistas en propiedad intelectual de diversos países tales como Argentina, Estados Unidos, México, España, así como de especialistas de la OMPI.
