System Features - DHCP• DHCP – Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
Assignment– The system will allow the PBX to use DHCP client
allowing IP addresses to be received from a DHCP Server over the LAN
– The DHCP server must be set to no expiration lease time on the IP addresses leased to the IPCMPR and DSP cards once IP telephones are registered or the phone will no longer function
System Features - Ping• Packet Internet Groper (PING) Confirmation
– The TDE has a built in PING command that can be used to confirm the connection of the IP telephones, routers and hubs within or outside the private network. The PBX will send a Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) echo request through the PC programming tool and receive and ICMP message confirming connection (reply).
System Features – Ping Confirmation
System Features – Ping Reply
System Features – Network Management
• Network Management– Simple Network Management Protocol - SNMP
System Monitor – allow minor and major alarms can be sent to a PC on the LAN and later analyzed with a SNMP manager software
– SNTP – Syslog support – allows the system to send SMDR information to a location on the network
– Telnet Support – allows a remote administrator to telnet in to make programming changes
System Features –Peer toPeer• Peer – to – Peer
– The PBX automatically establishes peer-to-peer communication between peer-to-peer compatible IP extensions. Non peer-to-peer IP extension calls are routed through the VoIP DSP card. A peer-to-peer connection allows the call to take place without using the PBX’s VoIP resources
– Peer-to-peer calls can only be made from IP extensions connected through the IPCMPR card
