You make opportunities at BLS possible!

Sumus Primi means a lot to me. It always boosts my confidence level in whatever it is that I am doing. It’s sort of a sense of pride that only we hold.

Investments in the BLSA Annual Fund from people like you give Peter and the entire BLS student body access to exciting opportunities and outstanding educational resources.

Please make your Annual Fund gift today to provide these same opportunities to the students who follow in Peter’s footsteps!

Since the class of 2016 started as sixies, the BLS student body has benefited from generous philanthropy of approximately $6.3 million, which averages to more than $2,500 per student during that time.

For PETER, that investment has translated into experiences and opportunities to:

• Gain a global perspective On a trip to Italy last year with his AP Italian class, Peter was rendered “speechless” by seeing the places and art he studied in his Latin and Italian classes. All students benefit from BLSA-funded professional development opportunities for faculty to integrate a global perspective in their curriculum.

• Be a part of a team Peter excels on the soccer, hockey and track teams and helped bring the boys’ soccer team to the playoffs two years in a row, with last year being its first time since 1980. Private philanthropy supports coaching stipends, transportation, supervised access to the weight room and other resources for the Wolfpack.

• Develop confidence Over the course of his six years at BLS, Peter gained confidence to be a leader among his peers. Your gifts provide financial support for an array of student-led clubs and a variety of experiences that build skills in leadership and collaboration.

• Achieve academic success Peter thrives in his history, science and language courses and has applied to be a member of the class of 2020 at a number of highly selective colleges. Donor support provides classroom resources to enhance BLS’ time-honored classical education with contemporary tools for students and faculty.

My Latin School Experience Peter Favorito

Room 316

My proudest moment at BLS was being elected

senior class president. I’d been thinking about being

the class president ever since the 9th grade, but

it wasn’t until I was chosen by my teammates to

be the captain of the soccer team that I had the

confidence to really see myself in that role. That’s

what makes BLS so special: we are encouraged to

reach outside of our comfort zones and explore

new things about the world and ourselves.

Being able to represent my class means a lot to me.

I love being able to share the pride I have in my

school. We’re given a lot of opportunities and those

experiences give us a lot of confidence and the skills

you need in life. I look forward to graduating in

June, but I know I will always be an active member

of my class and support my school. I want to do

for future BLS students what other alumni have

done for me.

Make your gift to the BLSA Annual Fund today. Thanks to your support, Boston Latin School remains prima perpetua – first forever.
