After all of the holiday fun we immediately think of getting ourselves back into shape, but keep in mind that your skin is the first thing that gets noticed. Our recommendation for vibrant, healthy skin is our exfoliating glycolic treatment that melts away fine lines and encourages collagen production. Choose from either our 30 minute “lunchtime” glycolic peel ($50), or our 90 minute anti-aging glycolic facial ($85)

The TAC will be happy to schedule your reservation with our licensed aesthetician Paula Aghoian. Please stop by or call the TAC at 632-1676.

Rewarding experiences happen all the time through Rotary Friendship Exchange, Rotary’s international exchange program

for Rotarians and their families. Participants experience other cultures and build friendships by staying in the homes of Rotary club members in another country. This program advances international understanding and peace through personal contact across borders while developing interclub relationships that lead to fellowship and service projects.

Last month, the New Tampa Rotary club hosted 2 couples and 3 individuals for 10 days from Sweden after staying with the same families in Sweden this past August. While they were here,

they took a tour of the Bucs training facility; had a briefing at Central Command at MacDill AFB by the Swedish liaison on the war on terror and what part Sweden has in combating this world-wide problem; visited Tarpon Springs; took a boat ride to Caladesi Island; and attended a farewell party featuring a wild game dinner at the home of George and Cassandra Banning. Pictured are Nils and Eva Hessel from Halmstad, Sweden attending the New Tampa Rotary Club Friday morning meeting, December 3, 2010.

The next exchange takes place in March, 2011 when members will travel to New Zealand and stay with host families for 15 days.

Health care is chang-ing and North Tampa Spine &

Joint Center, led by Dr. Travis Mohr, is staying ahead of the curve.

Dr. Mohr takes pride in of-fering his patients the latest treatment approaches avail-able today. A cum laude graduate, he holds a doc-torate degree in chiropractic and a master’s degree in sports rehabilitation. He has a unique skill set and believes strongly in evidence based health care.

“My specialty is joint and muscle pain.” says Dr. Mohr. “That is what I’m an expert in and I see it all day long. A patient should always start with non-surgical approaches. The majority of patients that I see respond favorably to my treatment approaches within the first couple of treatments. My first goal is to get the patient out of pain as fast as possible. The next step is to help them eliminate future epi-sodes of pain.”

Dr. Mohr does more than just treat patients. He offers free lectures for local corporations, explain-

ing the negative effects of sitting for long periods of time and how it causes pain. He has also teamed up with Moffitt Cancer Center and offers a stretching and low impact exercise class for employees.

It is evident that Dr. Mohr is passionate in what he does. “God has given me a unique ability to touch people’s lives and I thank him every day for that op-portunity.” He says.

If you Google his office you will see the overwhelm-ing positive feedback that he has received. Nu-merous patients have had great relief, including a

woman that drives from south Tampa just to see Dr. Mohr, stating that he is the reason she was able to walk for miles in Europe with no pain. Another gentleman in Lutz says that because of Dr. Mohr and his treatments he did not proceed with shoul-der surgery.

North Tampa Spine & Joint Center was founded in 2009 and offers Chiropractic care and massage therapy. The office is located between USAA and Freedom High School. They accept most private insurance plans and all auto insurance. No refer-ral is needed by your primary doctor and same day appointments are often available. The majority of patients treated walk out of the office with imme-diate relief. If imaging or further specialist care is needed, Dr. Mohr can refer you to a nearby facility that accepts your insurance.

It is refreshing to know that there is a great doctor in our neighborhood!

To learn more about Dr. Mohr you can visit his website at www.NorthTampaChiropractor.com. Dr. Mohr is offering a FREE 15-Minute Robotic Chair Massage for anyone who mentions this ar-ticle. Call the office for details 813-983-7921. l

A mistake that many players make is that they only watch the ball up to a certain point before they take their eyes off it to see where it is going! When that happens your perfect shot becomes a mis-hit and your shot is compromised.

A great way to really keep your eye on the ball is to try to look at the seams on the ball as you make contact. This enables you to actually keep your head still a little longer and watch the ball to its point of contact. It sounds simple, but it really works! Try it and you’ll see that....on the tennis court....”things are always as they “SEEM!

Have you heard the phrase, “Youth would be an ideal state

if it came a little later in life”, first penned by Herbert Henry Asquith? As we age, many of us have the time and resources to enjoy our lives, but do not have the physical stamina or energy to live life fully.

We have been told that aging is a natural process that can lead to fatigue, negative bodily changes, weight gain, lack of sleep, and loss of sexual drive. While the clock cannot be stopped, it is possible to slow it down by providing the body with the building blocks needed to restore vitality. These building blocks often involve Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), proper nutrition and regular exercise.

The medical community once believed that our bodies’ hormone levels decrease because we age. Now, it has become clear that our

bodies age because hormone levels decrease. Both men and women are subject to these age-related issues.

A bioidentical hormone has an identical chemical and molecular structure to the hormones that our bodies produce. Given that, bioidentical hormones have the same biological effects and cause the same physiological responses. Hormones that are non-bioidentical can either be synthetic or horse hormones, which tend to have far greater unwanted side effects. BHRT helps re-establish hormonal balance in a natural way without causing unpleasant side effects. Health benefits include improving lipids and cholesterol levels, enhancing energy, improving quality of sleep, balancing mood, and maintaining brain functions, as well as helping to prevent osteoporosis, maintaining bone density, reducing body fat, and maintaining proper muscle mass.

The goal of synthetic hormone therapy was to alleviate symptoms, such as hot flashes and mood swings. With BHRT, the goal is longevity and quality of life and providing the same protective health benefits as our own natural hormones used to provide.

If you answer yes to one or more of these symptoms, BHRT may be for you: Increased Body Fat, Mood Swings, Thinning Hair, Sexual Disinterest, Memory Loss, Irregular Menstrual Cycle, Headaches, Fatigue, Depression, Reduced Libido, Hot Flashes, Insomnia, Reduced Cognitive Functions, Erectile Dysfunction, Loss of Muscle Mass & Osteoporosis.

Testosterone begins to deplete in most men at 25 and hormonal imbalance may occur in women at 35. Discuss with your doctor your desire to find out the extent of your hormonal imbalance. Testing required could involve saliva, blood,

or urine (or a combination of the three) and the results should be interpreted by a physician who has experience in BHRT customizing a treatment plan so that an accredited pharmacy can compound the specific mixture and dosage level your body requires. Unfortunately, many physicians treat only the obvious symptoms. By properly addressing the underlying cause--hormonal imbalance--a person’s quality of life and overall well-being can be greatly enhanced now and for years to come.

Tampa Rejuvenation’s premiere physician, Caroline Van Sant-Crowle M.D. is an expert in Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. She is known for her

work with Suzanne Somers on her book, Knockout. For more information, please visit TampaRejuvenation.com.

Like a good wine, aging can now be better in years to come.
