Mission San Luis Rey Parish

This week starts with the celebration of Palm Sunday, marking the solemn entry

of Jesus into Jerusalem, surrounded by rapturous crowds waving palm branches, singing Hosanna!

Then begins Triduum, the three sacred days devotedto the Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection.

You’re invited to join us! On Holy Thursday, 3/24/2016, a morning prayer

service will be offered instead of 7:30 am Masses in the Parish Chapel.

Holy Land Franciscans

Preserve. Protect. Support.

On Thursday March 24th, we will celebrate the

Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7pm in the Serra Center.

During Mass, we will celebrate Jesus’ last supper with his disciples. We will imitate Jesus who washed the

feet of his disciples and told them to lead humble lives of service in His name.

torture, and death on the Cross.

On Saturday March 26, 2016, we celebrate the

Easter Vigil and Eucharist at 8pm in Serra Center. We proclaim “He is risen!”

with our catechumens and candidates.

On this holy night, the Church keeps watch, celebrating the resurrection of Christ in the

sacraments and awaiting his return in glory. It is the turning point of the Triduum, the Passover of the new covenant, which marks Christ's passage

from death to life.
