    PALM OIL AND SUSTAINABLE RENEWABLE ENERGY

    Why consider developing Renewable Energy?

    Conversion of abundant by-products (waste) to useful, clean energy;

    Minimise long term waste management cost, generate sustainable

    income;

    Reduce dependence on other energy suppliers and sustain further

    downstream processes (e.g. conversion of EFB to pellets);

    In line with Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Principle 5

    (Environmental responsibility and conservation of natural resources and

    biodiversity);

    In line with Governments policy in developing renewable energy; and

    In line with the Governments commitment to reduce 40% of Greenhouse

    Gas Emission by 2020.

    RENEWABLE ENERGY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY

    Currently, the worlds energy demand relymainly on its fossil fuels such as petroleum,coal, natural gas etc. which are nite and non-renewable resources;

    Signicant consumption of fossil-fueled energyis a primary source of GHG emissions whichcan lead to global warming as well as manyother localised pollutions e.g. acidication ofbuildings and soils; and

    To ensure sustainability and security of fuelsupply, emerging alternatives like renewableenergy are denitely the way forward.

    Our ServicesOur specic services include:Policy and Planning;

    Feasibility Study and Survey;

    Assistance on Small Renewable Energy Programme (SREP) application ;

    CLEAN DEVELOPMENT MECHANISM (CDM)

    Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) isa exible nancing mechanism for climate-friendly environmental investment.;

    A mechanism for developed countries to supportsustainable development while meeting theirgreenhouse gases (GHG) emission target;and

    The project were nanced and supported fromor through the sales from Certied EmissionReduction (CERs).

    Our CDM ServicesGoing through the process of CDM project development and application requireshighly specialised skills and experiences. We are dedicated to provide One-Stop services, from developing and guiding GHG emission reduction projectsstep by step from start to nish for both project developers and buyers of CERs.We also undertake research and studies as well as capacity building for boththe governmental and private sectors in dealing with CDM issues. Our specicservices include:

    CDM Project Initiation and Feasibility Assessment;

    CDM Project Management and Documentation ;Technology Supply and Installation;

    Carbon Trading and Evaluation; and

    Capacity Building, Training and Research.

    Our Strength(s) and Track RecordsOur understanding of the key success factors in CDM is one of the mostimportant strength of our team. Our experiences and knowledge of the local

    business culture and expectation will ensure our advice and services will fulllthe clients needs.

    Successful CDM documentation requires skills and detailed understanding oftechnical aspects of the project in question. Eco-Ideals forerunning position asone of the leading consultants in waste management and renewable energyin Malaysia complements our provision of CDM related professional servicesto our clients. In this respect, we have excuted numerous important baselinestudies on GHG emissions, potential in the waste sectors and so forth.

    We have assisted the rst POME biogas project in the world to achieveregistration with the United Nations CDM Executive Board. Currently, we are inprocess of developing PINs and PDDs for our numerous projects. We have also
