HUNGRY ARTIST SPONSORHUNGRY ARTIST SPONSORS are restaurants, cafés, caterers and other food vendors who provide food for one or more food stations located throughout the McColl Center during the event. HUNGRY ARTIST SPONSORS provide canapés, hors’ d’oeuvres, or desserts in-kind for at least 250 persons at each station they sponsor. The Center will provide these sponsors with a tax receipt equal to the true market value of the goods donated to the event.

THE VENUE: McCOLL CENTER FOR VISUAL ARTMcColl Center for Visual Art is a nationally acclaimed contemporary art center dedicated to connecting art and artists with the community. Located in a historic, neo-Gothic church in Uptown Charlotte, the Center houses nine artist studios and over 5,000 square feet of gallery space, hosting artists from the region, nation and world. Artists inspire critical thinking and positive change. They interpret the past and invent the future. McColl Center for Visual Art’s residency program offers artists a place to work, conduct research and participate in outreach projects which extend into the community.

THE EVENT: PALATE TO PALETTE, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7 at 7 PM Palate to Palette is the signature annual event of the Contemporaries of McColl Center for Visual Art. This lively event pairs six artists with a different wine for reasons specific to their unique relationship. Also featuring live music, delectable treats, and creative cocktails, Palate to Palette truly indulges the full spectrum of the senses. Now in its fifth year, Palate to Palette has hit its stride and earned a reputation as a “can’t miss” event in Charlotte.

THE AUDIENCE:The Contemporaries of McColl Center for Visual Art are a vibrant, diverse group of art enthusiasts and artists whose events provide a lively, social avenue for exploration of contemporary art. Each member shares a desire to be an active participant of contemporary culture through intellectual stimulation combined with a seriously good party. Expected attendance at Palate to Palette 2012 is 350 of Charlotte’s young and young at heart. Palate to Palette 2011 sold out (to the disappointment of many) and tripled the revenue of years prior.
