Objective of the Piece: This painting is to bless a pair of newly married bride and groom. There are mainly three colors used for the flower: Green, white and purple. White signifies that when the traditional Chinese groom is to be married and to leave their parents, there will always be a touch of sadness. Green insinuates hope and regeneration, which are the two elements of a lasting relationship. Finally, purple is closely related to passion and romance, it acts as a reminder for spouses to look into their partners' unique characteristics.

Objective of the Piece: This is a side portrait of a young countess. Her appearance and her dress showed that she was a person of high social class. Her hair, which was a brilliant orange, mixed with vivid yellow, reminds people of the sun. It also showed that she was young, full of passion and beauty.

Name of the Piece: The old farmhouse (imitation of the original drawing of Edward Henry FaheyMedium Used: Chalk on PaperObjective of the Piece: I altered the original medium of the painting, watercolor, into chalk since I believed it would express my impressions on this painting in this style. I tried hard to imitate the patterns and colors of the original painting to express the antiquated building.

4. Name of the Piece: To the churchMedium Used: Oil Paint on canvasObjective of the Piece: This painting showed a bridge that cross the river and leads to a church at the back. This painting is an imitation of ‘Stilles Kloster’ by Isaac Levitan, who was a Russian landscape painter. I changed the colors of the original pinting a lot: I made it brighter, more morning-feel and as if it was a painting of the Autumn Season. I painted this as a gift to my father so he can hang it on his bedroom wall.
