The story begins when Jean-Baptiste Laurent SEMIN starts producing plaster.
1838Philippe SEMIN, current CEO takes over the family business which only numbered 7 employees. Success is round the corner.
1980SEMIN develops its activity abroad: in Belgium, Germany and then over much of Europe.
1990To meet the demands of the Southern Europe and Maghreb market, SEMIN sets up a second production unit near Perpignan, at Espira-de-l'Agly.
1998Due to strong demand, a 3rd factory and a training centre are created in the Paris region, at Amblainville.
2008The Kédange factory, headquarters and laboratories are modernised and more spacious headquarters are built.
2009The Amblainville factory gets an ultra-modern paste production unit.
2010The first factory outside of France opens in Russia. A subsidiary (SEMIN Algeria) is created at Benjaia in Algeria.
2011SEMIN expands and develops thanks to its framework factory at Amblainville and the purchase of RUG in Germany (manufacturer of access doors which becomes RUG SEMIN).
2012The SEMIN factory in Russia starts production.
2013SEMIN adapts to the modern market and launches a range of natural coatings: NATURALISS coatings.

• BETON HAFTGRUND makes you feel more secure in case you have doubts about the substrate.
• For the lining of a smooth substrate, BETON HAFTGRUND allows bonded application and therefore allows to compensate for plumb defects, which is not the case with mecha nical attachment methods.

TECHNICAL DEFINITIONReady-to-use, solvent-free adhesive primer for smooth or hardly porous substrates, for interior and exterior use. BETON HAFTGRUND allows to achieve an adhe-sive bridge between such substrates and certain cement- or plaster-based products with a relatively low bond. BETON HAFTGRUND also allows to regulate the porosity of heterogeneous substrates (presence of several materials of different nature).
APPEARANCEPink, ready-to-use primer with visible grain. Paint-like consistency.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USERehomogenize before use. Do not dilute. Working and drying temperature must range between 5 and 35°C. Do not apply onto a damp surface.
PREPARATION OF SUBSTRATES BEFORE APPLICATIONThe substrate must comply with DTU 59.1, i.e. be clean, dry, free of dust and of any trace of stripping oil.BETON HAFTGRUND is not a surface hardener. Therefore, a primer such as PRIM-SM must be applied beforehand to any soft substrate.
SUITABLE SUBSTRATESCan be applied onto interior and exterior walls, and also onto ceilings.• Smooth cast-in-place concrete.• Self-levelling concrete.• Old paintwork.• Old painted fibreglass coverings.
COVERINGSOnce completely dry, BETON HAFTGRUND can be covered with all types of product (cement-based, plaster-based, ready-to-use), in particular bonding compounds for lining and traditional plaster (for manual or machine application).

STORAGE12 months in unopened original packing protected from frost and high heat.
APPLICATION METHODBETON HAFTGRUND is to be applied using a brush or a woollen roller. Apply a liberal coat onto the substrate and allow to dry before covering. The drying time will depend on the substrate and ambient conditions. As a general rule, allow for approximately 6 hours.

SURFACE PREPARATION BEFORE APPLICATIONSurfaces must be clean, dry, dust-free, without any traces of grease or mould stripping. With concrete, check drying and stabilisation (mini-mum 4 weeks).
FORMING JOINTCompress one end of the joint, that is resilient and does not stick to the sealant. The bottom of the joint must not have any notches that may cause the joint to blister.Protect the edges of the joint with adhesive tape for a better finish.Apply one layer of the sealant to single width joints, and 3 layers on double width joint - the first two on the lips of the joint and the third on the bottom.Wash with water that does not contain any addi-tives. Conveniently fix the sealant against the bottom of the joint and the lips, preventing any air bubbles.Remove the masking tape.Protect the joint from all showers, runoffs and sprays of water or ice until a skin (>1mm) has formed (minimum 24h at 23°C). At temperatures of 15°C, the joint must be protected for at least 1 week, and longer for lower temperatures. Once the skin has formed, protect the joint from ice until it has dried in the middle.
