LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS: ACMEC

ONLINE CME ACTIVITY REVIEWERS

ACMEC conducted a needs assessment to

determine if members would like the Grand

Rounds video library to return. The library

would contain online recordings of select

Grand Rounds, consisting mainly of voice-

over PowerPoint. CME credit would be award-

ed to members upon successful completion of

a post-test and evaluation, with the option to

also earn MOC Part 2 points for select activi-

ties.

So far, ACMEC members have expressed an

interest in having these online modules availa-

ble to them. Therefore, ACMEC has started

developing these modules and is almost ready

to deploy them to members, but we need your

help!

We are looking for volunteers to review select

modules to help us troubleshoot any technical

glitches and validate the clinical content. The

estimated time commitment for each module

review is approximately two hours.

Current ACMEC members who are interested

in serving as reviewers should email us at

[email protected] with Online Reviewer in

the subject line. Thanks!

ACMEC Announcements

NEW ACMEC BOARD MEMBER

ACMEC is pleased to welcome Marion Cook

MD, R2 resident of the Family Medicine Resi-

dency of Idaho, to its board of directors serving

in one of two newly added resident representa-

tive seats.

Dr. Cook is a graduate of the University of New

Mexico in Albuquerque. She has particular inter-

ests in women's health, addiction and also nar-

rative medicine. Her interest in family medicine

was inspired by several years serving Albuquer-

que’s diverse South Valley communities at the unique nonprofit clinic

Casa de Salud.

Prior to her medical training, she was a liberal art major and then worked

for many years backpacking in Minnesota, Montana, and Mexico as an

instructor for Outward Bound, promoting leadership, group skills, and

personal growth. She enjoys fitting in time for knitting during lectures, as

well as biking, baking, writing, gardening, and being outdoors with her

partner and their dogs.

2018 CME Application Materials & Series Renewals

Updated applications, instructions and materials

are now available directly through ACMEC. There-

fore, we ask all planners and coordinators who in-

tend to certify an activity or series for CME credit in

2018 to contact ACMEC early in the planning pro-

cess to discuss their plans.

As a reminder:

▪ Outdated materials WILL NOT be accepted.

▪ Applications will not be considered complete and ready for review until all information re-quested is submitted. ACMEC will not accept incomplete applications for review.

▪ Complete applications must be submitted at least 60 days prior to activity/series start date.

▪ Renewing activities (approved in 2017) may request a waiver of this requirement, but must do so at least two weeks prior to their 60 day deadline.

▪ Renewing series (approved in 2017) must be submitted at least 30 days prior to series start date.

▪ Check with ACMEC before starting an applica-tion for the most up to date instructions and forms.

Thanks to all of our joint providers for your contin-ued dedication and collaboration. We look forward to partnering with you to provide our community with quality CME opportunities!
