CALENDAR TERM 3 PRINCIPAL’S NEWS
It certainly has been a busy term with many changes and unexpected surprises. Thank you to our students, staff and school community for their support, suggestions and commitment to ensuring our school is a safe and fun place to learn, work and be. We are indeed very fortunate. Learning has continued to be at the fore here at Pagewood Public School. We have a number of classes finalising their film entries to Film by… this week. Everywhere I go I see students engaged in their learning, participating eagerly in stop motion, mathematics, reading, public speaking, music and writing. Every day here is busy but rewarding. I hope everyone has a wonderful break and look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday 12 October. In the meantime you will see continued works as the old boys’ toilets are removed and the foundations for the new demountable are put in during the holidays. The new student toilets have opened today, check out the new facilities below. We hope the students will love them and look after them. We will be installing water bottle refilling stations above the bubblers ASAP. If you require vacation care for your child/ren, please book with Star Club online. If your child has not attended Star Club previously you will need to enrol first before you are able to make a booking. Please see page 6 or view their website for more details. Students will return to school in summer uniform for Term 4.

STAGE 2 STUDENTS RAISE MONEY FOR KIDS’ HELPLINE!
The Stage 2 students would like to say thank you to those of you who placed a bid on their 'Melting Moments'
artworks.
The winners will receive an email this week. Congratulations! We are sure that the artworks will look appealing in your homes or offices.
A special thank you to Mrs Jessica Samuels who spent a lot of time on the art auction website. She went above and beyond what was asked of her.
Thank you to the Stage 2 teachers, as well as Ms Kathy, Ms Sandra and Mr Garcia for co-ordinating the artworks.
We have managed to raise $428 for Kids Helpline! This money will be donated as soon as possible.

VACATION CARE – STAR CLUB
Dear families, Star Club is very excited to share with you our first vacation care program at Pagewood Public School! This Spring school holidays we will be running a program between Monday 28th September and Friday 9th October. Note: Mon 5/10 is a Public Holiday. See flyer at the end of this newsletter with our engaging and varied program that we can't wait for your children to participate in. BOOKINGS To submit a booking request, simply go to our website, select your school, and submit a booking request via the online form. We'll then contact you by email to confirm the booking and any subsidy steps that may be required. Please do NOT use the Xplor Home app for vacation care. CANCELLATION: Two weeks written notice is required to cancel a booked session. If not provided, full fees will be charged. Most featured experiences will be onsite except for one excursion each week. The excursions are to parks in the area with lots of open space and we will be bringing our own equipment. If you decide that an excursion is not suitable for you or your child, there will be an experience available on site as well. HEALTH & HYGIENE - There will be no use of playgrounds on the park excursions - Hard surfaces will be cleaned at the start of the day, at lunchtime and at the end of the day - Hand washing will continue to be a strong focus, particularly before meals. Hand sanitiser is also available on site. - Social distancing will be encouraged and the large indoor and outdoor spaces on site will be utilised. - Please wait at the gate at drop-off and pick-up, do not walk through the school. A staff member will help your child retrieve their belongings. - A Covid-19 risk management plan is available and will be displayed. All other risk assessments are available on site. PPS P&C (Parents and Citizens) News
Mrs Kerves (Teacher Librarian) spent $537.30 of Book Club Rewards in August on wonderful learning
activities and games that will particularly benefit our EALD (English as an additional language or dialect)
classes, as well as be used more broadly (see below photo). A huge thank you to the school community for
their generous support of Book Club which enables the school to purchase great resources for the benefit
of our students.
The P&C met via Zoom on 7/9/20
• Zoom meetings to continue until permitted on school grounds, when they can be a combination of
face-to-face and Zoom
• Monday voted as meeting night going forward
• Fundraising options for Term 4 discussed
• Any ideas for fundraising, please contact P&C on email address above
• Feedback from students, parents and staff about Star Club OSHC (out of school hours care) very
positive
• A huge thank you to Nerida T and Alysia J for all their work on OSHC selection panel
