GymGuard™ Frequently Asked Questions What is the best way to clean my gym floor cover? Use a mild dish detergent or an industrial strength cleaner found at a home supply store or supermarket, such as Mr. Clean. Can I play sports on gym floor covers like soccer, baseball, and floor hockey? While the covers are ADA compliant for slip resistance, they will be more slippery than the wood floor. Gym floor covers are de-signed for non-athletic events, not for sports activities. Activities played at high speeds with hard foot plants and cuts are not rec-ommended on the GymGuard product. If I am getting a gym floor cover with custom lettering/ logos, will it wear off due to foot traffic? TuffPrint is expected to wear the same as the cover itself – eventually, over a period of years, it may wear off, depending on the traffic. Can gym floor covers be installed on surfaces other than hardwood floor, such as rubberized flooring or carpet? Yes, it is possible for gym floor covers to be used on carpeted and rubberized floors. The heavier fabric options might work best because they will lay flatter and be less susceptible to movement by foot traffic and tables/chairs. One should know that the tape will work for taping the sections together but may not work for taping the covers to the floor surface. How do I choose the most suitable weight for my needs? We usually determine our recommendation based on how many times you will use the covers per year. Of course, budget is a factor as well. The heavier weights are more expensive, while the lighter weights are lower in price.

Gymnasiums are often multi-purpose facilities: the setting for dances, registrations, banquets, plays, and commencements, in addition to sporting events. It is worthwhile to maximize the space by hosting activities that can generate incremental revenue, but it’s critical to protect the gym floors from damage caused by high heels, chairs, tables, and food and drink. New gym floors can cost $50,000 - $100,000 so it makes sense not to risk damage to this valuable part of your facility. Two people can install a floor covering system over your entire gym floor within 30 minutes, providing you with the assurance that the floor will be safe from potential damage and helping you protect your investment for years to come. How long will my gym floor cover last? GymGuard fabrics are made with rugged substrates and durable coatings, ensuring the longest wear possible. The heavier the fabric, the longer the warranty. To increase the life expectancy of the cover, it is best to store the covers properly on a Mobile Storage Rack. Why is the Mobile Storage Rack the preferred method of floor cover storage, rather than folding them? Depending on the length and weight of your floor cover, each section can weigh over 100 pounds, which can make moving and storing them extremely laborious. It is safer and easier to use the Mobile Storage Rack for this process. Folding the covers is also not recommended due to creasing of the covers during storage time, which weakens the fabric. In addition, creased covers will not lay as flat, posing tripping hazards for those walking on them.

A four-part recycling process (shown below) explains how EnviroSafe™ foam is made. OUR FABRIC COVERINGS Nissen EnviroSafe™ mat and wall padding fabrics are tough! Our PVC-coated fabrics are super tear-resistant, antibacterial, phthalate-free and have high UV and flame resistance. They can take the most rugged indoor and outdoor wear. All indoor mats and wall pad coverings meet fire codes – including NFPA 701, CA Fire Marshal and UL 300. Other vendors use 14 oz. laminated fabrics, which tend to peel after extended use. Our 18 oz./sq. yd. fabrics are coated in one homogeneous layer of PVC and polyester. Our sharp multi-color images will outlast other processes. Eliminates the historic problems of digital printing, like weathering, premature fading, scuffing, and unsightly white mesh backside color. Images will last outdoors as long as the fabric, something rarely true with digital imprinting. Also high-ly spike, cleat, and racquet resistant.
