NURTURING SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY
Crooked Creek Hops Farm has the most acres of Copper hops grown in New York State. By the end of 2016, Chris Holden expects to have the most acres of Copper hops in the entire country, offering local brewers the opportunity to use hops that was awarded first place for best new experimental variety and would otherwise be difficult to come by. Chris is growing other hard-to-find hops as well. He’s not simply interested in making Crooked Creek different, however, but in growing unique crops that will help set the craft brewers in Corning and the Southern Finger Lakes apart.
For information on what hops Chris is growing and on Crooked Creek events, visit CrookedCreeksHopsFarm.com

Summer has always been a magical time. Maybe it’s all that
blue sky and sunshine or the sense of freedom that comes with days that seem to go on forever, offering hour after hour of fun. Maybe it’s all the extra things there are to do, like hiking near waterfalls or exploring the heart of the forest on the Finger Lakes Trail, or camping out under the stars, gathering around a campfire, sharing stories, and making s’mores. Maybe it’s the ways we transform incredible Keuka Lake into our own personal playground for waterskiing, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, sailing, swimming, and other forms of splashable fun.
Summer is a time to let loose. It’s a time for picnics in the park and bike rides and long walks. It’s also a time for slowing down, for letting go of the daily routine and catching your breath. It’s a time when we find so many reasons to smile.

“ Fall is one of the best reasons to visit wine country. Not only are the wineries in full swing—crushing grapes, making wine, and filling the air with delicious smells—but the leaves are finally changing, delivering some of the most picturesque views you can find in the fall. . . . You’d be hard pressed to find a more quintessential fall location than New York’s Finger Lakes. The colors that envelope the lakes this time of year are breathtaking, as are the wineries. . . .”
