Again, it is designed for folks who have recently joined FBC or are considering joining FBC. On the Journey,

Scott

The Pastor’s Pen “Buenos Dias!” and “Muchas, muchas Gracias!!” Those words of greeting and sincere thanks, come to you from our friend and church partner, Pastor Moy in Queretaro, Mexico! I recently had the distinct privilege of traveling there and pouring into the lives of some regional missionaries & their wives, along with several area pastors & their wives. I was able to lead a two day enrichment seminar where I shared several points of encouragement with these Godly couples, then facilitated a preaching conference on the preparation and delivery of sermons.

It was a sweet, prayerful and even teary time with these fellow servants, who are giving their lives for the Gospel in Mexico and South America. In addition to our two seminar days, I was also able to speak in a home-group of Pastor Moy’s church, where we talked about many things including, how to have better marriages! On that Sunday morning, I preached twice at our partner-church Iglesia Bautista Betel, led communion, and enjoyed the warm hospitality of a churchwide luncheon afterwards. All this alongside my trusty translator, Dr. Mescher, who really is an amazing interpreter! (Thank you again, Scott!)

As is often the case when visiting another Country, I was again reminded of how blessed we are here: in church facilities, in neighborhoods, in way of life, in having clean drinking water, in enjoying ice in a glass, in so many things that we often forget or take for granted. Well don’t! Be grateful for what you have. Appreciate where you are. Give thanks for those who provide for you. Ours is a blessed life, friends. And with those blessings come the responsibility of sharing them. “Freely you have received, so freely give!” says our Maker and Master. (Mt10:8) As we move into this time of Year where buds begin to grow (yes, we will eventually emerge from Winter) may our hearts and lives do the same – all for His Kingdom’s sake!

I am grateful to Army Chaplain, Major Pete Keough, for filling in for me the Sunday I was gone. Chaplain Keough is a godly man and serves our Country faithfully. I know you were blessed by God speaking through him, so continue to pray for Pete and his family in the days to come!

This month, we’re also transitioning to our new worship Service-styles on Sunday mornings. I hope you’ll come with a heart consecrated before the Lord and ready to worship in a fresh, new, Spirit-filled way. Invite another person to join you in worship this month, and ask the Lord to loose a spirit of renewal over everyone and everything connected to His Body here.

At the end of the Month, we’re looking forward to our annual “FBC Man Weekend.” We re-calendared the event to later this Spring so we’ll be able to enjoy a Friday night cookout & devotional, along with our Beat-the-Staff golf tournament on Saturday morning. Our British pastor partner, John Singleton will be with us that weekend, so find your foursome and come on! Sunday morning we’ll cap our weekend with a men’s emphasis and the Lord’s Supper, as we begin our holy week preparations for Easter!

We’re continuing our Sunday morning message series this month: iCan – a Series of Life Apps. So I hope you’ll join us as we open and apply these truths of God’s Word.

Ready to see God glorified with you!
