News British Prime Minister Resigns
Prime Minister Tony Blair has announced his resignation.
He will leave 10 Downing Street on June 27th.
Labour MP's voted for a new Prime Minister.
Gordon Brown received the most votes.
Gordon Brown is Britain's chancellor.
He will become the new Prime Minister.
Tony Blair will continue to work as an MP.
Tony Blair has been Prime Minister for ten years.
news Earthquake in England
There has been an earthquake in Kent.
The earthquake damaged several buildings.
Residents said buildings shook and swayed.
Walls cracked and chimneys were knocked over.
Many families had to evacuate unsafe houses.
Electricity was cut out at thousands of homes.
One woman was injured.
The earthquake is the biggest in Britain since 2002.

A new French President has been elected.
The election winner was Nicolas Sarkozy.

My name is James.
Last summer, my friends and I went to Mexico.
One friend thought it would be fun to skydive.
I was a little bit scared but agreed to go.
On February 22nd I jumped out of the aeroplane.
Fortunately, I was attached to a parachute!
We decided to do a skydive for charity.
We wanted to raise funds for a very good cause.

ARCOS focus on helping people with communication
and eating difficulties, their families and carers.
At Playa del Carmen airport I got on a tiny plane.
It could only hold myself, my friend
and our Mexican tandem jumpers.
We flew to just over 10,000 feet.

It was possibly the most exhilarating minute of my life.

We had a glorious 10 minute parachute ride down to

The views were spectacular.

to help solve crimes.
I look for fingerprints, blood, DNA,
hair and shoe marks.

Most of the time I don't.
Sometimes I wear white overalls to protect me
from contaminating the crime scene.
I wear a mask to stop my DNA getting on things
and gloves to stop me leaving fingerprints.

Loads... I have a whole van full.
Things like cameras, fingerprint brushes and powder,
magnifying glasses and cotton swabs.
How many hours a day do you work?
Nine hours,
sometimes longer if there has been a serious crime.

Both, I go wherever crimes happen.

Almost six years.

25 grams spaghetti
225 grams Italian salad dressing
2 grams Italian herbs
115 grams grated Cheddar cheese

Half a green pepper
Quarter of an onion
Half a cucumber, peeled

Method
Get the saucepan and add the spaghetti.
Pour boiling water over the spaghetti.
Put the saucepan onto the hob.
Turn the knob to a medium heat setting.

When the spaghetti is cooked, pour into a colander.
Rinse the spaghetti in cool water and drain.
Get a sharp knife and chop the vegetables.
Put the vegetables in a large bowl.

Grate the cheese.
Add the cheese and herbs to the vegetables.
Add the spaghetti and pour over the salad dressing.
Stir and put in the fridge to chill before serving.
