    4 First Aid Measures

    · Description of first aid measures· General information: Take affected persons out of danger area and lay down.· After inhalation:

Supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Consult doctor if symptomspersist.

    · After skin contact:Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. Remove contaminated clothing. Flush affectedareas with plenty of water and soap.

    · After eye contact:Rinse opened eye under running water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists.

    · After swallowing: Drink plenty of water and provide fresh air. Call for a doctor immediately.· Information for doctor:

Check for hyperkalemia and treat ECG changes aggressively (ie Kayexelate)Monitor vital signs, blood pressure, respiration and onset of cyanosis. Administer oxygen if there are clinicalsigns of methemoglobinaemia. Methylene blue is the specific antidote indicated in case of methaemoglobinemia.

    5 Fire Fighting Measures

    · Extinguishing media· Suitable extinguishing agents: Water· Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

In case of fire, the following can be released:Nitrogen oxides (NOx)Metal oxide fumes

    · Advice for firefightersFire or Explosion: These substances will accelerate burning when involved in a fire. Some may decomposeexplosively when heated or involved in a fire. May explode from heat or contamination. Some will reactexplosively with hydrocarbons (fuels). May ignite combustibles (wood, paper, oil, clothing, etc.). Containers mayexplode when heated. Runoff may create fire or explosion hazard.

    · Protective equipment: Mouth respiratory protective device.

    6 Accidental Release Measures

    · Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency proceduresMount respiratory protective device.Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.

    · Environmental precautions:Contain materialInform respective authorities in case of seepage into water course or sewage system.Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water. Should not be released into the environment.

    · Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:Dispose contaminated material as waste according to item 13.Pick up mechanically, sweep and shovel into containers. Re-use if not contaminated. If contaminated, store insuitable containers for disposal.Ensure adequate ventilation.

    · Reference to other sectionsSee Section 7 for information on safe handling.See Section 8 for information on personal protection equipment.See Section 13 for disposal information.

    7 Handling and Storage

    · Exposure controls· Personal protective equipment:· General protective and hygienic measures:

Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothingWash hands before breaks and at the end of work.Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.

    · Respiratory protection:In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure useself-contained respiratory protective device.

    · Protection of hands:Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/the preparation/thechemical mixture.

    Protective gloves

The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation.Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation

    · Material of glovesThe selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality andvaries from manufacturer to manufacturer.

    · Penetration time of glove materialThe exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to beobserved.
