Issue 4
On an annual basis, the different school sites in Broken Bow compose a Com-prehensive Local Education Plan (CLEP). This year we took our plan and used the text to generate what is called a word cloud. It is a program that finds the most commonly used words and makes a picture of those words. The larger the word, the more that word was used in our plan. The smaller the word, the less that word was used in our plan. Below is the word cloud for Bennett Ele-mentary.
Tammy Smith, 3rd Grade
Teacher, Bennett
Elementary
“My name is Tammy Smith and I
have taught 3rd Grade for 28 years.
Wow, that is a long time! I went to
school in Broken Bow, then on to
college in Durant, OK. I met my
husband, Mark Smith, my first year
teaching here at Bennett. We have
been married for 23 years. We
have three sons that we are very
proud of. Clay is 19, Jake is 17,
and Britt is 9 years old. They do a
lot of team roping and calf roping in
the rodeos, which they are pretty
good at, and have lots of saddles
and buckles to prove it. Clay and
Jake ride and train horses for peo-
ple from as far away as Canada.
Britt also enjoys playing baseball
and basketball. Mark and I stay
busy keeping up with them.
I love watching my boys and spend-
ing time with my family. I also love
teaching 3rd grade here at Bennett.
