The program installs smoke and car- bon monoxide detectors, grab bars, handrails, raised toilets and nightlights. It also replaces aging batteries and provides flashlights and grab sticks. “The department is eager to serve you and your family,” said Chief Mike D’Orazi. If you are an Alameda resident call Ruth Ann Crawford at 337-2133 to see if you or your loved one qualifies.
