For more than 60 years, Padua Academy has provided generations of young women an education rooted in the Catholic faith. Our students thrive under the guidance of

Padua’s experienced and knowledgeable

faculty and administration. The four tenets of

a Padua education — Spirituality, Scholarship,

Service, and Sisterhood — are what make the

Padua experience truly transformational.

Padua’s commitment to the highest quality

academic experience has earned national

recognition as one of America’s Top 50 Catholic

High Schools.* Former First Lady Laura Bush,

an experienced educator and lifelong advocate

of women’s empowerment, has commended

Padua’s faculty for their commitment to

student success:

“As parents and teachers, we don’t know

where our children’s lives will lead as they

grow up. But we do know that one of the

best things we can do for our children is to

put them in an excellent environment to learn.

Since its founding, Padua Academy has given

its students an extraordinary education,

anchored in timeless values. Padua develops

girls into women who live lives of purpose

and distinction.”**

Rooted in the Catholic faith, Padua Academy offers young women

a transformational college preparatory education, challenging them

to live Christ-centered lives of leadership and service.

Mission

“Our teachers imparted far more than a curriculum. They helped us

understand that some of the most important lessons cannot be found in a

textbook. Most importantly, our teachers illuminated the mission of

the Gospel — encouraging us to live out our faith, not only within the

four walls of Padua, but also in the world around us.”

— Sarah Brennan ‘13

As a community rooted in the Gospel and modeled on the values of our patrons, St. Francis de Sales and St. Francis of Assisi, we take great responsibility in supporting

the faith development of our students. Our

religious education program prepares students

to accept responsibility for their mission of

living the Gospel, nurtures in students the

ability to make moral decisions, and fosters

in students the desire to embrace the

Christian lifestyle as a life-long journey of faith.

By teaching and living the Gospel of Christ,

we help our students develop strong spiritual

habits and enthusiasm for a God-centered life.

As a college preparatory school, Padua Academy readies students for success at the university level and beyond. Our academic programs and activities stimulate students’ critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.

Padua is committed to providing dynamic learning opportunities. Curriculum offerings evolve based on the ever-changing academic and technological landscape. Students and faculty continually research and pilot new

technology and software to enhance Padua’s rigorous educational program. Padua’s unique schedule provides each student with individual attention and the opportunity to engage in academic discourse with both faculty and peers outside of the classroom.

Students graduate from Padua with the intellect, confidence, and determination to succeed. Colleges and universities consistently report that Padua graduates are among their best prepared incoming students.

Scholarship“Our teachers have supported, encouraged, and pushed us during our time

here, and we carry with us their dedication and passion for learning.

We depart for higher education with a strong work ethic, efficient study

habits, and the ability to think critically, question, and analyze.

For us, scholarship is not only what we have learned, but also

it is how we have learned.”

“It is in giving that we receive.”

Service

Padua’s motto, Suaviter Sed Fortiter, translated as “Softly but Strongly,” embodies the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi who dedicated his life to the service of humanity. This philosophy of servant leadership is the core of Padua’s mission.

At Padua, students learn the importance of actions as a reflection of faith. Service projects instill leadership, self-discipline, and social cooperation; furthermore, they encourage students to develop effective

decision-making skills and personal accountability.

Beyond the doors of Padua Academy, each student is given an opportunity to serve members of the local community who are in need. Padua’s Students In Action program, which matches students with service projects, consistently earns recognition through The Jefferson Awards - Deloitte Youth Service Initiative.

A sister is someone who reaches for your hand and

touches your heart.

Sisterhood

At Padua, our school community is truly a family, and our top priority is YOU. From the moment you first visit Padua, you will immediately notice that there is something special here… the love, the warmth, the genuine caring. This is the Padua Sisterhood.

We have many special traditions and activities, all of which are rooted in the bond of sisterhood. This unique experience begins the summer before your freshman year with activities such as the Freshmen In

Transition (FIT) program, Freshman Fun Nights, and the Big Sister/Little Sister Summer Social. All of these activities are designed to welcome you to the Padua sisterhood so you feel confident and secure, prepared for your first day of school.

By choosing Padua, you are joining a network of Padua alumnae who remain connected beyond graduation, reuniting professionally and personally to support and celebrate one another throughout their adult lives.

“School spirit comes down to one thing – pride. The more you

love your school, the harder you work to better yourself and

your school. I am involved in everything I can be because

I am proud to be a Panda.”

School Spirit

— Emily Brindle ‘13

At Padua, school spirit is a way of life. Padua students have a sense of pride in the heritage and identity of our school. This community pride inspires our students to accept with grace and integrity the responsibility of caring for the school and one another.

Our students and faculty are a diverse group with a common bond — loyalty to Padua. School spirit unites us and motivates all of us to work harder in the classroom and

in the community. Students are encouraged to demonstrate their Padua Pride in unique ways as reflections of their own talents and interests in the realms of academia, athletics, activities, and the arts. Years after graduating, our alumnae reflect fondly on their time at Padua and the lasting memories they made with friends here, and they maintain a strong devotion to their beloved school.

Once a Panda, always a Panda!

“We have four short years to help our girls become confident and

competent young women. We encourage each student to courageously

reach for new goals, to grow — Suaviter Sed Fortiter,

Softly but Strongly — toward God’s will.”

Success

— Cindy Hayes Mann, Head of School

“ Padua gave me the skills to be myself and be that well, to enter everything I do with heart and for the pursuit of greatness.”

— Bernadette Land ‘13

“ Padua Academy is a treasure. The journey that girls experience here is transformational. I started at Padua as a shy, young, naive girl and am graduating as a confident, strong, intelligent young woman ready to take on the world. It’s hard to describe what happens at Padua, but all I can say is that it’s worth it. The work is challenging, but the toughest, most challenging things in life make us stronger.”

— Rachael Molitor ‘13

“ Padua has shaped me as a person. My teachers and my Padua sisters have believed in me and helped me to become the best person I can be.”

— Kaitlin Moore ‘13

“ Padua has given me many tools for success. I am surrounded by great teachers, tech- nology, and other resources. However, the most important tools of all are within me. Padua has taught me that I am capable of meeting any challenge and accomplishing anything I put my mind to, and that is the most valuable lesson I take from my time at Padua.”

— Shannon Hayes ‘13
