regulatory violations. Oversaw all aspects of civil litigation insurance defense, with particular emphasis in

defending negligence, property damage, wrongful death, and construction law related claims. Prepared individual case evaluations and budgets to ensure that costs were effectively

managed. Drafted numerous dispositive motions in state and federal court; drafted discovery answers

surrounding collar counties, and the ICC. In 2014, resolved and settled over $3.2M in insurance related claims and claims brought

against Nicor Gas and Peoples Gas. Drafted, prepared, and maintained annual self-audits and case reports summarizing and

analyzing cases being handled on behalf of various insurance companies and other clients. Extensive discovery experience; oversaw multiple large-scale document productions.

NICOR GAS COMPANY- Naperville, IL Senior Attorney, 2009-2012 Provided legal counsel to business units and senior management of Nicor Gas, the largest

natural gas distributor in northern Illinois, serving more than 2.2 million customers. Investigated complex and routine claims brought against Nicor Gas in the ICC and claims

initiated by Nicor against contractors and excavators who damaged Nicor gas lines. Managed the investigation of stolen gas charges against various customers, in preparation of

bringing criminal and/or civil lawsuits. Represented Nicor at trial, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and ICC hearings. Litigated complex and routine claims in state court against various contractors for damages

incurred to Nicor underground facilities. Prepared monthly reports to track the amounts saved and expended on legal proceedings.

HELM & WAGNER, P.C. - Naperville, IL Associate Attorney, 2007-2009 Prepared for and participated in two jury trials, one of which rendered the largest jury award

for a condemnation claim in the history of the Circuit Court of DuPage County. Drafted numerous legal documents, including a Motion for Summary Judgment in U.S.

District Court concerning breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. Worked with various expert witnesses in real estate development and real estate appraisals.

STATE OF ILLINOIS, OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL - Chicago, IL

Assistant Attorney General, Labor & Employment Unit, 2005-2007 Maintained a caseload of over 400 Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) referrals. Investigated and defended employment and sexual discrimination claims brought against the

State of Illinois. Researched claims brought by the IDOL in preparation of filing civil lawsuits against

employers violating various labor and employment laws. Represented the Illinois State Police in claims brought by suspended employees seeking to

have their suspension reduced, necessitating the investigation of the employee’s actions and the circumstances resulting in the suspension.
