It’s late February and Pham Tan Minh inspects his mango trees in the southern province of Dong Thap. Harvest is approaching and Mr. Minh knows the exact moment he wants to pick his prized Hoa Loc mangos from the tree. The Hoa Loc variety are some of the finest mangos in the world. Smaller and more of a elongated oval in shape than the typical mangos sold here in the US, they are yellow when ripe. Prized for their beautiful yellow skin, bright yellow, smooth flesh that has almost no fiber and quite firm. Very fragrant, sweet and juicy.
