The village of Porthleven is a fascination all year round, by locals and tourists alike. Its history is outlined by the countless buildings and harbour that have stood the test of time and never fail to accentuate the village, making it possibly one of the most fascinating places in Cornwall. The town clock is one of the focal points in the Village, and is still wound up weekly by the Mitchell family which has been tending to the clock for nearly 40 years. Overlooking the harbour is a new generation of businesses which combine to become the new heart and soul of the village. Award winning Kota is recognised by The Good Food Guide and various other publications, and its sister restaurant Kota Kai boasts a spacious restaurant with top quality food for everyone’s tastes. Chef and owner Jude Kereama brings his New Zealand roots to his dishes, and has been chosen to represent the South West in this year’s Great British Menu. If you pay a visit to the village, why not stay in Kota’s Bed & Breakfast facilities too, a perfect way to spend your trip!
