• Compression test in accordance with EN ISO 12048: 2000

• Vertical impact test (free fall) in accordance with DIN EN 22248

• Vibration test in accordance with EN ISO 2247: 2002

Climatic tests as specifi ed by the following parameters:

The ready-for-shipment master cartons must be fully functional and usable after the climatic test has been performed:

Cycle Temperature Humidity (RH) Time

1 50° C 80% 40h

2 50° C 20% 40h

3 -10° C 20% 40h

This identifi cation can be carried out by label or imprint. The labels must be designed in so that that the barcode is clearly readable. The change of the Hama-specifi cations is not allowed.

For smaller boxes, labels sized DIN A6 (148x105 mm) are permitted.

11. Packaging Material and Recycling Code

11.1 Packaging and packaging components must meet the requirements of the German Packaging Ordinance (Packaging Ordinance = Verpackungsverordnung – „VerpackV“; Source: www.bmu.de). In particular, it must be ensured that the concentrations of heavy metals comply with the prescribed limits.

11.2 Hama, also known as importer on behalf of third parties, does not accept packaging materials which are made from wood coming from illegal sources, from overexploitation or undetectable origin.

11.3 Recyclable packaging material should be used, if possible corrugated cardboard, cardboard or paper. Composite materials should be avoided.

11.4 With the recycling code different materials are marked for the purpose of reintegrating them into the recycling cycle. The recycling code can be affi xed to packaging components in coordination with our product management. It consists of the recycling symbol which is composed of three (often green) arrows which are supposed to refl ect the recycling cycle, of an abbreviation which shows the material group and of a number which marks the material.

Sample to recycling code: Recycling symbol

12. Auxiliary Packaging Materials

In the interests of protecting our environment, the following points must be taken into accountwhen designing packaging:

• Hama, also as an importer on behalf of third parties, does notaccept packaging materials which are made from wood coming from illegal sources, coming from overexploitation or undetectable origin.

• When printing on packaging, printing inks low in heavy metals and free of solventsmust be used.

• Only CFC-free foams may be used.

• Padding made of moulded pulp is preferable.
