VISION

Secure international movement of people for safe and prosperous Pacific

Communities.

MISSION STATEMENT

Strengthen Pacific border integrity and promote economic prosperity through

regional collaboration, modernisation, facilitating secure, seamless, and efficient

international movement of people.

OBJECTIVES

The PIDC’s strategic objectives are:

1. Enhance national immigration borders to contribute to international security;

2. Facilitate cross border travel to support social and economic development;

and

3. Collaborate to create effective national immigration agencies.

1. 1996 - First regional Meeting of Immigration Directors in the Pacific

2. Immigration agencies commitment and agreement to annually meet

3. 1997 –Immigration Agencies endorsement to the establishment of a PIDC Charter to formalize membership and annual meeting

4. 1998 – Members Agreement to establish a Steering Committee and Secretariat

5. 2009 –Members agreement to adopt PIDC Institutional Review recommendations and explore options to transition into a legal entity status
